Fuse Direction for Pass Labs Amp and Preamp
@jasonbourne52    You're clearly an intelligent guy who can sort out nonsense from fact.  Join my club. @helmholtzsoul     Juice is juice.  No hope for you I'm afraid.  I've called the guys in white coats. "It’s simple AC moves in a direction to...
Vinyl Repair?
@mijostyn  Hi.  Glad we agree on something! We called it 'jump' in English English. Reference the triple jump in athletics, in early days this was known as 'hop skip and jump'.  The skip and the jump were pretty similar.
Vinyl Repair?
Don't mess with the toothpick.  You might think it's wood so it can damage the vinyl but the vinyl's really soft. Besides. the point of the toothpick will cover three of four grooves - it's huge, relatively speaking.
Every day I see another turntable recommendation...
Fine mijo.  If you play records while hammering the side of your plinth, so be it. Overkill earthquakes, overkill hammering, washing machines, jumping up and down.  We are talking about small airborne soundwaves.
Audiophile Grade Wall Receptacle
Just get a standard one and save your $$$s.  It will make no difference to the sound.  Juice is juice. And ask the hospitals why they spend money on upgrades - here in UK that's taxpayers' money. In 70+ years of living I have never had a 'wall r...
Vinyl Repair?
Your disc probably would have been better off if your wife had let it fall.  But catching things you have dropped is a reflex action. If the behaviour is to become regular, it may be good to ask her to trim her nails.   Seriously, long long ago...
Every day I see another turntable recommendation...
@mijostyn   I have had plenty of suspended turntables, for many years from the late 70s a Linn that I was forever having to re-tune so that the springs bounce evenly.  Then a Simon Yorke Zarathustra a massy design in which the springs were like ca...

"They will not shield the cartridge from extraneous vibration ( sound) as well if at all.".  @mijostyn  There is more than one way of shielding from vibration.  I favour unsprung TTs, no added springs elsewhere (boing boing) - who says vibration...
Turntable Placement Between Speakers with Short Interconnect?
@nyev  It's important not to obsess too much. There's nothing wrong soundwise putting the TT between the speakers.  Remember they have minimum output 90º to the sound axis, so this is actually an area of minimum interference from sound waves. T...
Pink Floyd’s brand new song
Great initiative but should not be sung in Russian. Whilst it is true many Ukrainians speak the language, in current circumstances there can be no employment of anything Russian.
Can a great system make a mediocre recording sound good?
All systems are imperfect.  That is they cannot perfectly reproduce the signal fed into them.  Therefore the sound that comes out will be judged either 'better' or 'worse' at reproducing that signal.  The systems that are 'better' will be improvin...
Audio Research Ref 75 SE: Replace 20A IEC inlet with 15A
The amp was delivered with a power cord. This is the one AR recommend, so obviously it is good to power the amp. Use it.  It's 'free'. Changing your power cord won't change the sound.  It will just empty your pocket book.
High quality CDs
@retiredfarmer  Well the Wadia was pretty good with other recordings. Anyhow, you may not be right on these chips.  The first three Wadia 16 reviews I turned up say 'Super'.  'Simply the best'.  'One of the best CD players ever made.  Hmmm Choi...
High quality CDs
@retiredfarmer  On the face of it, a pertinent question but remember I said the Chesky disc was far worse than other CDs.  So you can deduce the player paid other CDs satisfactorily. To answer your question the player was a Wada 16, an expensive...
