Are Tube Buffers for real or even worth it ?
Don't you mean tubebluffers? Best just to buy proper equipment.
How important is spending time with your gear?
@erik_squires  I think most people here are anachrophiles.  We do like looking at our gear while we listen.  Of course many pieces are beautifully designed and constructed as well as engineered so it is a pleasure to look at it.  eg my Martin Log...
which is a better speaker
Brilliant all guys on here. Not one recommendation of a speaker model or even a reference to any save OP's present speakers. OP picks two speaker models out of thousands and asks which is better.  He tells us nothing about his room, his tastes a...
Question about speaker angle
Have to experiment.  Even the same speakers are different in every room. It's true there is a trade off between strong centre image and wide soundstage.
Which DACs are known to be sweet/rich/relaxed?
"sweet, rich, relaxed" I don't think these characteristics are likely to be found in a digital system.  Perhaps in a very high 64/256 recording, just maybe. The DAC is the bad elephant in the room.  Every time you think you have a good digital r...
Turntable noobie...what advice do you have?
@mijostyn  How right you are about obsession with record cleaning. I have had a Nitty Gritty Auto for more than 30 years.  I have 4000+ albums but I now rarely have to clean one.  When I buy an LP (used and new) I play it.  If it is noisy I clea...
$5K KUZMA TONEARM FOR ONLY $690! Gryphon Diablo for Only $699!
Scammers will always be with us. As they are rarely caught the best solution is to drastically up the penalties for those who are.  The US is very good at severe penalties.  Shall we say 3 years prison for a first offence, 20 years for the second...
High current power cables
@thyname  Thank your for your support and understanding. Yes I have nothing to do with 'clearthink' who does not do that. I have only had one handle here which is the current one.  If our masters were to exclude me, I would not bother to create...
High current power cables
@oldrooney  Thanks. Your power supply looks great to me.  As long as you are supplying your amp with enough juice that does the job.  Don't overspend for no benefit. My old Krell KSA50 (D'Agostino's first product, mid 80s) used to play on after...
High current power cables
I want to ensure that members distinguish me and my posts from the condescending unhelpful posts of another member just above who has a handle rather similar to mine.
All New Furutech PROJECT V1 Power Cable The New KING Of Power Cables ?!
Try to stop worrying about power cables.  See my post elsewhere. If you do worry, $8k is nowhere near enough to spend.
Can a DAC sort out a flat\cold amp?
@bobby1945  All great ideas Bobby.  OP should implement all. This post just goes to show what a mess you can get into down the digital rabbit hole.  The faults being heard are almost certainly due to digital issues and like most here I would exo...
Pigskin or jico leather mat
What if you're a vegan?
Lose weight or buy better fitting pants
@jpwarren58  Sorry JP.  Makes no sense at all, save not to put very large speakers in small rooms. And a long narrow room with low ceilings is a corridor.  Or a railway carriage.
Voltage mode vs current mode phono stages
Yes it was the Boulder 1008.  I really didn't like it.  It sounded very 'transistory'.  I didn't move on to the 2008 mainly because of the price, but I felt it likely there would be a house sound that doesn't suit me. I have Ortofons A90, Anna, V...
