Integra processors good?
Congrats and enjoyI think your salesman gave you good advice - you will be plenty happy with 5.1 especially if you can get it on the side walls instead of the back wallIf you want you can set the Integra up to bi-amp your speakers - meaning that i...
Speakers for HT/2 channel
I use a 9.8 into a Butler to run a set of the Von Schweikert VR2s for mains, the LCR15 as a center, their sub (single) and a pair of the 150s for surrounds. They are efficient, fast, detailed and quite musical. Very good with movies and TV events....
What processor?
Blazer - I am sure that the Cary is a fine unit. But there is no comparison in functionality to the Integra. Essentially the only reason to buy the Cary is because you value sound quality above a carefully integrated tool for creating a home theat...
Integra processors good?
I agree with Skippybo - you get one of these because of what it can do with your digital sources. It is the center of an HT system. Movies sound amazing. Sports sound amazing. You can hook a turntable up to it but I doubt it will sound amazing.FWIW...
What processor?
I highly recommend the Integra 9.8/9.9 processor.See my comments on the current thread Integra any good and this link www.stereophile.com/hirezplaye...In a nutshell: supports all the SOTA standards and is likely to meet all your needs for quite aw...
Herbies iso cups vs. BD Racing cones
i have a lot of stuff from both manufacturers - including the cones and the Lampblack Ball, Iso-Cup and Hi-End Basereally no comparison between the two in terms of how they work - the cone is simply rigid. the Isos set up with the lampblack ball a...

Viggen - do it - you will be a happy guy- I could not be happier with mine.First, Integra is a flagship line for Onkyo - sort of their Lexus. At $1,300 he is just a few bux above what used ones have been going for here. Make sure it has the latest ...
How do Digital Amps Mfrs. compare in sound?
I have a NuForce integrated I purchased used here on the Gon. It definitely had a nasty glare on top. I sent it in to NuForce (xlnt service) for a V2 upgrade - glare is all gone and it is a very sweet unit with great dynamics - and I only use it w...
Subwoofer beginner question?
Haven't gotten to play with it but everything i have read suggests that you may have an easier time accomplishing your goals with two subs due to the flexibility in placement relative to the roomyou can search here, Asylum and Google there is quit...
What to do?????
Car - no comparison between old and new processors. First of course the endless proliferation of new formats. I decided this was a sweet time to get in because the key new standards have been set and stabilized. Since very little software is yet a...
What to do?????
I agree with Bob_reynolds. Amp design just doesn't change that much unless you want to go to something next generation like a stack of NuForce 9.2s which would be awesome.I would also question the notion that its worth staying with one manufacture...
First Steps into Computer Audio
Definitely agree with Jax2 - do not do your audio in a computer unless you are prepared to spend for a very, very good sound card - not worth it IMHOI favor USB - very standard, nothing too exotic is required in the cable - get a Belkin Gold.I am ...
Stealth "Varidig" rca cable is it worth buying?
I had the original Varidig. Brought my system to life - will never forget, I got it off the Gon and plugged it in - a few days later, holy mole - WOW is all I can say.Never did hear the Sextet
Does XLR-RCA converter work for digital?
SPDIF is 75 ohms, AES/EBU is 110 ohms - which is what Rotarius was saying in the first postWikipedia sez that SPDIF is "essentially" a consumer version of AES using consumer connectors - but AES 110/XLR is balanced (why it is used in pro installat...
Does XLR-RCA converter work for digital?
Wait - the EQ goes between the preamp output and the power amp in - that way one unit can serve all of your needs. Also - and much more important - there is nothing to EQ between your transport and your DAC - its digital...
