Phono Preamp suggestions?
if it's not a sales call what is it?
Plinius 9100 vs Luxman L-505U
Reports that I've been hearing are that the new Luxman gear is tremendously good. I'd love to hear some of it.For some dumb reason, I'm sure, I just can't get past the look of any Plinius gear- I know, a very stupid way to evaluate gear, especiall...
Zu Essence vs Devore Nine vs Maggies
Yes, Bjesien, I was going to ask the very same question--Saki, you beat me to it!
Favored KT-88's for Sonic Frontiers amp?
Thanks, flyfish, the Gold Lions were on my short list to send him. They seem to be a choice for many, with Leben gear also.Take careChas
Most musical integrated amp you have heard?
leben cs300xs
MOSFET
So that's what it means?! I never knew...and I used to own one, two actually, my old Moscode 300's...I loved em way back when. I used to laugh at the reviewers back then who always went on about the mosfet mist...
Which cleaning solution do you use in you RCM?
Hiendmuse, I think everyone would prefer a one step method, but without rinsing you're doing your records no good at all. I know full well--me and several of my friends used RRL and MoFi for years without knowing we had to rinse. What a difference...
Which cleaning solution do you use in you RCM?
I'm sure the walker products are good, but I'm not doing a 4 step with anyone. For now, I'll use the best 2 step I've found so far, the AI.
Which cleaning solution do you use in you RCM?
I love the Audio Intelligent the best so far, over RRL and MOFI. It's just made my records quieter. Can't comment on the static factor. I use the #15 and then their water rinse. They do have a 3 step, but that and the Walker 4 step would prevent m...
Dynavector XV-1S and equal stereo output?
It's telling you to get the mono equivalent.....do you play many monos? I've only a few, but when I heard them on the mono version, look out, it was great! but, there is that expense of another cartridge...when in doubt call your dealer....
Which phonostage is a heavenly match for a XV-1S
So, I have two built-ins to recommend, Dynavector's own preamp, the L300, and another that I love, the Crimson 710. Both are blessedly better than many out there, have remote, and work great with the XV-1S.
Mapleshade boards under speakers
Hi Sebrassch, I don't think I would use the glass coasters if I were you, although it can only take a few minutes to try it. Pierre from mapleshade says that using a disc or wafer under a point lessens the overall improvement. Let us know what you...
What Printed Magazine do you prefer?
funny, you talk about economic times, yet HiFi+ is so expensive compared to the others.....they also lost Jason Hector, who's reviews I liked very much. Plus, they just don't review products that interest me.I'd stick with stereophile, mainly for ...
Dynavector XV-1S impressions?
I find it lovely, and not how you describe it. You don't give any other pertinent info, but it does take a while to break in if yours is still new, and your setup may be affecting the sound. And, each time you play it, there is a small window of w...
Has anyone heard the new Pass Labs XP-15 phono?
Hi AudioFeil, I'll have to ask my friend. The cables were furnished by Pass, that's all I know. I didn't inspect anything closely, I don't like the looks of their gear, except for the remote. I just listened. Even when the phono stage was at my ho...
