Keithr,Congratulations, I've read good things about this german company. Based on it's design and simple circuit approach it would seem better than the Mac for a purer and natural sound. Listening will sort out the answer. Regards,

Linkster,In my case I have to believe that the products I`m using are`nt creating any particular coloration. In fact it may be safe to say they have reduced coloration in my system and that`s causing the improved sound.Regards,

Linkster,That`s a good question. The recent changes I`ve made(Duelund,Star Sound and Synergistic Research fuses) all their contributions seem elevated even further with the HFC in my system. This total effect is quite beautiful to hear.

Larryi,I agree, certain large scale music if loud enough can push a SET to its limit. No amplifier is best at everything, some amps are better for the example you gave but then those amps would fall short elsewhere. The Takatsui-TA 300b is superb ...

Tbg it`s clear now. I got an audition sample HFC CT-1 'Enhanched' from The Cable Company yesterday. All ready it`s apparent this is in a different league from my current digital cable the ASI Liveline(which is excellent). All comments written in t...

Sorry, I re read your post and understand you're crediting the cable.

Larryi,I find with a good SET amplifier I can expand the usable volume range in either direction. At medium and lower levels they maintain a healthy sense of pace, flow, dynamic contrast and remain very musically involving. The transparency, tone r...

Tbg,You're saying the HFC are so good that they're exposing the faults of your tweaks or the tweaks are revealing shortcomings in the cable?

Tbg,I am curious, how are these cables causing such a change?
What is a better route, tube or SS preamp?
Nice post Syntax,I`ve evolved over the years and have come to the same conclusion.Eventually most listeners will discover what satisfies their own ears best.Regards,

Nice post Larryi, no single amp topology does it all.SET is`nt perfect across the board(what is?) but their natural presentation and non mechanical sound is more emotionally real and involving IMO.Gsm18439(Gary) you`re right, it`s difficult to gen...

Robsker,I find many "modern" jazz recordings still maintain the natural position of the musicians.Verve Records for instance is consistent with this. There are exceptions of course.Regards,
Coincident Linestage vs CJ CT5 or Allnic L-3000
Brownsfan,I'm happy the CSL is all you hoped it'd be.I know how wonderful it is but you can't predict another person's outcome with a given component.I, as you do, use live acoustic music as my reference point. This method effectively separates th...
Coincident Linestage vs CJ CT5 or Allnic L-3000
Brownsfan,You were a longtime advocate for passive units and very happy with their performance. With the active CSL in your system has there been any period of adjustment? How is the music presentation altered? How is dynamic contrast, tone and tim...

Onhwy61,That makes sense to me.It would seem that keeping the recording pathway simple and straightforward and avoiding the added manipulation is preferable. I'm glad jazz didn't succumb to the over processing trend.Regards,
