HoloAudio STREAMER is out now @hilde45 I listened to the Holo Audio streamer today and it was amazing. Was it really "amazing"? If so, that’s quite encouraging at its price point. I wonder how it compares sonically to the Magna Mano Ultra MK III that really impressed Hans ...

Network optimization for serious streamers @fastfreight Now I have the new 1G/s Muon Pro. It connects perfectly with my 1G needy Auralic streamer. AND, to us, the Muon Pro System sounds even better than the Muon. Since we never know what speeds may later prove to be a bottleneck, I w...
Network optimization for serious streamers @ghdprentice (George) Thank you. Charles
Analyzing DACs I am familiar with the Soul Note product story and philosophical/implementation approach. Near the antithesis of Benchmark designs. Curious to see how someone who is pleased with Benchmark will respond to Soul Note. There’s only one way to find ou...
Network optimization for serious streamers Hi @ghdprentice Is your Wi-Fi extender connected via LAN cable to your Aurender or is it completely wireless? Charles
Network optimization for serious streamers I believe that as with many audio related endeavors it boils down to choice and choosing among numerous alternatives. Audio streaming can be as complex/involved or straightforward/simpler as one desires. Successful end results are obtainable with ...
Network optimization for serious streamers @ghdprentice I have a $150K audiophile system running on a Netgear Modem / Router, with a wall wart wifi extender… I have heard a number of world class systems running this way. No more is required Of course this represents heresy to the D.I....
Grimm MU1 Streamer - Really "The Best"? @sns Grimm chose to go in the direction of SMPS as the preferred power supply option. For the record, Antipodes has followed suit with their flagship Olandra music server. SMPS rather than linear power supply as found in their K50 server. “...
845 or 300b with Agalme? @sns I've had two 845 SET amps, greater impact, authority with 845, 300B more harmonic development, sweeter. I love both tubes, probably can't go wrong with either. Make sure you have high grade power tubes in either case. Agreed. I feel that...
845 or 300b with Agalme? To my knowledge, the Horning speakers regardless of the model are 96 db sensitivity (Or higher). They are considered to be a very easy to drive flat 4 ohm speaker impedance. I found this description on “Mono and Stereo” website. The new Agalme s...
Grimm MU1 Streamer - Really "The Best"? +1 @lalitk Looking forward to the listening impressions. Charles
So I bought the Willsenton R-800i @chmaiwald The first record I put on now was „The Isaac Hayes Movement“ and even with the stock tubes still in place it was such a dramatic difference to the Rotel I used for the last few days. So smooth I have no doubt that the contrast betw...
The 300B World A good quality lower cost 300b amplifier is a tough act. Simple circuits and fewer parts count on one hand. But, those parts have to be at least decent/reasonable quality or the SET will disappoint with its sound quality and reliability. Charles
The 300B World I hear when you purchase a Willsenton, you get a free balloon. LOL! Maybe so. Your call. If you can find comparable or better for 2K USD, good for you.👍 Charles |
