40+ watts SET, cost is not a problem
@pani Ralph does make an interesting point. Most tube push pull amplifies are class A/B with NFB. So a pure class A zero NFB PP topology could be a potentially wonderful option with the TAD speakers. Charles

@pani  Trying to stay with your stated quest, Aries Cerat Diana Forte. PSET 845 with 60 watts per channel. At the very least they are worth a look. Charles

@paulfolbrecht  Link Magnetic 805ia is a very well regarded 805 SET amplifier. 50 watts per channel pure class A (By default). Charles

@whitestix  When we are treated to a master class in tube design philosophy, freely given, participants clearly appreciate the generous sharing of information by the masters: Don, Lynn and Ralph.  It has been a real education for me Very well ...

@donsachs  It is undoubtedly a different topology than ours and I wish them well.  I am sure they will get their version to where they want it to be as we have with ours.  They will sound different of course due to the preferences of the designe...

@willgolf  Yes you’re much better off posting on WBF exactly for the reasons you cited. Definitely a wise decision. I look forward to following your listening impressions. Charles

@willgolf  Even though I loved my Horizon, I do like the synergies from Aries Cerat.   Makes perfect sense to me. Two superb DACs, one could hardly go wrong with either. Charles
Theoretically, How to Reduce Gain without Minimal Impact to Sound?
Should I cap the volume level at my (digital) source to something less than max/100, like, say, 65, while leaving Gain to High? Or should I leave the digital volume maxed, but change Gain setting down to Medium or Low? Since you have an option ...

@jc51373  My goodness, settle down. Nothing has “shattered “ I was just acknowledging that nothing will please everyone. What some may find to be absolutely terrific, others, not so much. It happens all the time with  audio components/automobile...

@jc51373  But I am left scratching my head at all the gushing over this DAC, it's just ok not worth $20k by any means.  It seems that you have solved this dilemma. Different audio systems, ears and taste will certainly account for the variatio...
Is there a Solid State amp that can satisfy a SET guy?
@snopro  It's always good to see a post from you. I'm glad you still have and are enjoying your Horning speakers. Do the S.I.T.-3  and Frankensteins clearly have a sonic advantage in any specific/particular way in direct comparison with each othe...
What is your experience with LiveVibe Audio Points?
@bluethinker  Further clarification, my DAC, preamp and mono block amplifiers are all tube components. I use the older generation Sistrum platform/audio points underneath my 300b SET mono blocks. Audio points work beautifully (Sonics) with tube c...
What is your experience with LiveVibe Audio Points?
@bluethinker  I initially used the Audio points beneath my DAC, CD transport and tube preamplifier. I was so happy with the sonic results I began using the Live Vibe Apprentice platforms. I have them in use with every component in my audio system...
What is your experience with LiveVibe Audio Points?
I completely agree with the very positive comments regarding Live Vibe/Audio points products listed above. They improve the sound quality of audio components and speakers if used as intended. In my opinion it's money wisely spent. Charles
