Hearing aids for audiophiles? It seems that modern hearing aids have helped many people in terms of better understanding human voice/one on one conversation. Music listening is a different matter and there's still much improvement/advancement needed. Music listening is a compl...
Cube Audio Nenuphar Single Driver Speaker (10 inch) TQWT Enclosure Steve, I believe at a lower price point the Tekton Perfect SET and the Canadian Coherent Audio speakers may have come close to your wish list. However when many factors are taken into consideration the Nenuphar remains very formidable. I just get...
Cube Audio Nenuphar Single Driver Speaker (10 inch) TQWT Enclosure Hi Steve,Congratulations! I believe you have made a wonderful decision in choosing the Nenuphar. Based on what I've been able to learn about this speaker from owners and reviews I feel it sets a new upper tier standard among single driver speakers...
Higher End DACs Hello djones51,ed_nyc makes a compelling case for the extraordinary measures taken to overcome RF emissions and vibration issues that are detrimental to sound quality. Is it your contention this objective can be effectively achieved at a very re...
New Parasound Halo JC1+ monoblocks just released!!! I have to agree with george in regard to his negative feedback ( NFB) comments. With very few exceptions it seems that the less use of NFB the better (natural) the sound quality. A pretty consistent inverse relationship.Charles
LTA Ultralinear vs Pass Labs XA25 benrosser,That's an excellent decision! There's simply no better way to judge an audio product than to hear it in your own audio system. Granted, easier said than done sometimes. I look forward to your listening impressions.Charles
LTA Ultralinear vs Pass Labs XA25 benrosser,Al clearly made a very sound case for why the Pass XA could be a successful pairing with your Salk speakers and I suspect this would be a terrific sounding match with no concerns about power and current. It is quite apparent however that...
Cube Audio Nenuphar Single Driver Speaker (10 inch) TQWT Enclosure Stephendunn,With the stated output impedance of your OTL amplifier I suspect you're going to have a very fine match with the Nenuphars. Congratulations and I look forward to your upcoming listening impressions. I believe you'll be quite pleased wi...
New Parasound Halo JC1+ monoblocks just released!!! ricred1,+1. Your comments reflect wisdom and reason.Hyperbole serves little purpose.Charles
Tubes gguy767,I find it surprising and interesting that your Yaqin is a pure class A bias circuit as opposed to the more common class AB (particularly in this price range). If this amplifier is well designed and built it should provide very good sound q...
Looking for recommendations for a 'warm' sounding DAC Hi PK, Your listening experience with the Audio Note DAC is what I was alluding to above. A "natural" sound quality without the over emphasis of the upper frequency range and the leading edge. When it sounds honest and natural your ears seem to re...
Cube Audio Nenuphar Single Driver Speaker (10 inch) TQWT Enclosure Toetapaudio,Thanks for your thorough characterization of these two what I believe are spectacular speakers. I really think that these Cube Audio speakers are cut from a different cloth compared to other single driver wide band speakers. I don't do...
Cube Audio Nenuphar Single Driver Speaker (10 inch) TQWT Enclosure Hi toetapaudio,Other than presumably lower frequency region differences, have you heard other sonic distinctions between the 8" and 10" Cube Audio drivers in your showroom system?Charles
Looking for recommendations for a 'warm' sounding DAC Agree with mitch2 regarding the Yamamoto DAC (I’ve owned mine for many very happy years. SS version but utterly organic). I believe that the Audio Note DACs are more available on the used market ( Larger company with far more DACs built and sold)....
Looking for recommendations for a 'warm' sounding DAC I like lowrider57's Audio Note DAC suggestion. No gratuitous warmth but a natural/organic character I understand duckworp's aversion to components that emphasize or exaggerate the leading edge for "sense" of detail. This sounds artificial.
