MoFi Ultradeck or Technics 1200GR
@stevehuff Did you use the same cartridge on both turntables ? What was your cartridge then? Are you sure it is not a cartridge/tonearm mismatch? What is a compliance of your cartridge ?
Which cartridge ?
The Denon cartridges I’m referring to are the Dl 103R and the DL 110 . None of them have a conical stylus as that would be the DL 103 which does have the lower grade conical Stylus . Both DL103R and DL 110 are moving coil designs with super polish...
What is the better sounding turntable: Project 1XCarbon or the Rega P3 ??
The sound of a pickup arm/phono cartridge combination can vary depending on the turntable on which it is mounted. Turntables do have a "sound." If we can swap cartridges quickly, how can you swap turntables without changing arm/cartridge ? Those ...
I cannot say enough about the KAB Concorde STY40 combo
There also was the Ortofon cartridge for the SME series III that incorporated the arm wand model 30M.https://www.ortofon.com/sme-30h-p-875 Thanks @totem395 this is interesting version (MM).

The Original Concorde 200 was not only an MC cartridge but it was an MC with replaceable "stylus" as you can see in the catalog. And it was a Nude Fine Line diamond and Boron cantilever combo!

How do you describe a sound of a turntable itself ?Tonearm/cartridge is what you’re hearing basically.Different cartridge - different sound
Which cartridge ?
After the disaster with the Ortofon I had a old Grado Black hanging around which I had never used for years . Mounted it on my turntable . It sounded very good . To my ears and taste , liked it better then the Nagaoka MP110 .If you already have Gr...
Stylus shape?
With elliptical stylus? Yes! No, it's Super Elliptical (often called Hyper Elliptical by other manufacturers)
Phono Preamp. With transformer or fully active
I read  discussions in External SUT’s being used and phono stages with built in transformers ? I thought the OP asked for a phono stage with built-in SUTs.As for external SUT I found this model very usefull for all cartridges.
Stylus shape?
back in the 70's, the 'shibata' stylus was pretty popular. where doe's it stand today? or is it still available?? Great profile, some of the best LOMC cartridges like Miyajima comes with Shibata profile today.
Stylus shape?
Proper alignment of advanced stylus profile is not so difficult, manufacturers always give us recommended tracking force, the rest is just the same as with any profile (azimuth, overhang, tonearm vta). Tonearm without adjustable VTA is junk if it ...
Phono Preamp. With transformer or fully active
With one SUT you can't use all MC cartridges, such phono stage is not universal for all MC. It will work for some of them nicely, but if your cartridge impedance is very low (2 Ohm) or very high (40 Ohm) you can't use one SUT for both of them. Act...
Need some turntable guidance
I'm not upset I bought the 444 in 79, and I'm not at all upset I traded it in. Audiophilia is a journey, and I'm extremely happy with the musical enjoyment I've gotten out of my system over the years. The OP asked for turntable guidance, i'm not...

The Original Concorde was an MC cartridge and that version was an audiophile grade. Concorde MC200 is Moving Coil cartridge. Now Concorde is MM
