Any SB Owners Using Channel Islands Power Supply I am using the Revelation umbilical and power cord is Shunyata Taipan. Power supply sits on black diamond racing cones with three small weights (the removed feet from my estoeric x-03se) on top.
Any SB Owners Using Channel Islands Power Supply I have yhe CI power supply for my sb3 and it was a most notable improvement. No more rf interferance from fm tuner, blacker background, wider, deeper soundstage, better retrieval of low level details - improvement all around. A must. (get the upgr...
Fuse blown on RB-1080 with new pair of DynAudio's Any chance that when you spliced the speaker cables, you shorted them out? The rat shack cable is cheap enough - try making another run of cable.
DAC, amp & headphones 1k I have the 650's and both the Benchmark and Antique Soundlabs Tube Headphone amp - both sound awesome; better soundstage depth with the Antique SL, warmer, more romantic sound. I do enjoy both very much. On my earlier post, didn't realize the Cayi...
DAC, amp & headphones 1k You may like this:Cayin Audio has released a new integrated headphone amplifier with a built in DAC called the iDAC-1, priced at $795. Like Cayin's HA-1A integrated headphone amp, the iDAC-1 is tube powered, though it uses two 6N1 tubes rather tha...
What is your routine for break-in of cd player I played mine nonstop, alternating cd, the ayre disc and sacd's. Be prepared for mucho hours. I don't think 100hrs is close to optomized on most high end players.
CD drive improves HD rip quality? I have seen some nice imporvements when I went from the drive in my PC (Gateway FX) to an outboard Lacie Firewire drive. Have had no errors or hiccups at all (Rip with EAC).Other than the better quality, I think that removing the drive from within...
Shakti Stones Do they actuall work guys. I can take them out one by one. You may have a point that the stone hurt the player. I could take one off my amp and see what happens. I'm off line right now due to a broken cable and waiting for a replacement. I may give it a try and let you know.
Benchmark DAC I am a Benchmark owner, and it has made me search for the next level-it makes my squeezebox sound so incredibly good, I keep thinking there may be something that makes it sound even better - then I read and read and realize unless I spend MEGA buc...
Upgrade from Benchmark Dac? 4est,Powercord is the Shunyata Python Vx Helix (into Shunyta Hydra w/20amp Python PC) on Symposium sveltshelf; IC's are Tara Labs The One.Sidssp, I don't know if it sounds better than a $4,000 DAC as I haven't heard one in my system. I do have an ...
Upgrade from Benchmark Dac? I agree with 4est 1000% on interconnects and Power Cables on the Benchmark. Aso power conditioner and isolation. I know spending $3,000 on cables and PC may seem silly on a $950 dac but it really makes the Benchmark perform way better that out of ...
Budget Turntable The Technics had the KAB PS1200 power supply, fluid damper, Isonoe footers, upgraded bottom plate, upgraded wiring (not cardas but the guy spent $200 for it), strobe dissabler and record clamp. It (to me) really sounded stringent, narrow sound sta...
new to me turntable and preamp ...and bury the Radioshack with the squirrel.
new to me turntable and preamp The NAD would be fine. The squirrel sound is from the arm/cartridge and poor speed stability, resonance and feedback from poor compliance. Strangle that squirrel and bury it. Almost anything you do mentioned by anyone here, or from one of the repu...
Budget Turntable A "J" arm is longer than a streight arm and, thus, has more mass, and, is heavier. The J arms have been abandandoned long ago - just like the "S" arms and direct drives (except in rare, recent cases (direct drive)-and it is done a bit different th... |
