Do you need a DAC for internet radio only? I have a squeezebox (Benchmark dac) and have no drop out/buffering issues w/internet radio. While I wish they were wav files, they actually sound decent through the dac. Better than mp3's, which they are. W/o the dac...they sound like mp3's.
Firewire to SPDIF Not sure on the cables. I'm using the stock firewire that came with the MAudio and no issues. I have seen upgraded usb cables on line but have't seen any firewire by the high end mfg (Cardas, etc). I would bite if I saw one.Good luck with your upg...
Firewire to SPDIF I like the M Audio alot. I tried the Trends with the stock and the battery power supply and neither worked for me. I just dismissed the usb altogether. The Maudio into my monarchy dip into Music fidelity XDac 3/PSU gets me close to my Esoteric xo3...
Firewire to SPDIF I didn't say the manual was mistaken.
What are you using to clean plasma screen? I use the micro cloth on my Elite Kuros as well. I have the monster kit for other screens but have not used on the Elite. It really doesn't pick up any dust (The Elite Plasma) so no issues yet. I have had the Plasma for over a year.
Firewire to SPDIF USB 1.1 still no where as fast as Firewire. USB still utilizes the CPU in your configuration and transmits packets, not data streams. Try firewire.
Firewire to SPDIF ...you can (and I do) convert firewire to spdif for my dac (M Audio Firewire solo). Do a search on firewire vs usb for audio. Here is just one of the many links I have found:http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=526020I haven't used the Echo.
Firewire to SPDIF The USB 2.0 can pass 24/96, but not USB 1.0. (USB 2.0 maxes out at 24/96). USB also uses the CPU which drains power usage (though there are some new USB utilazations by third party manufactuures which bypass the CPU issue). I have long been a prop...
Squeezebox Internet radio 'sputtering? Have you disabled the firewall?
It costs me $100 a week to listen to vinyl Life is expensive. If you do it right.
Shunyata Python Helix. How good they are? I love my Pythons. Absolutely agree with Blindjims description. I replaced my Taipan Alpha's with the Pythons on my amps and the difference is exactly as described. I think part of the magic is system synergy-I use shunyata hydra and all power cor...

pairing an amp and cd player with B&W 685 I have had the 685's for a year and they sound great (I use the plugs w/o the center closed) and the highs are wonderful. They each sit on two Symposium Fat Pads, on desktop (well worth the upgrade, IMHO). I paired them with a Cayin A50T Intergrat...
Surround Sound Processor Suggestions I wouldn't suggest anyone upgrading their pre/s without something that allows the new audio codecs. The difference is amazing.
pixelization? My guess is that HD, needing a larger bandwith, would display the compression more so, than SD, and, SD, being a lower resolution, would mask the compression better. I did a few installations in my friends houses, who use cable, and I was able to ... |
