Which High Res releases are worth buying? Linda Rondstadt "Whats New" on HD Tracks in 24/192 is absolutely spectacular.
which output setting sounds best? I don't think it matters. You are not getting anywhere near a decent signal with the USB/HRT. It is all veiled anyway. Doubt you will hear a difference.
All things Must Pass- High Rez Download SQ ? I downloaded Linda Ronstadt, Whats New off HD Tracks in 192/24 and it sounds absolutely incredible. I have the vinyl and the CD and the hi res download contains so much more information, its boggling.
Is berkeley dac as good as absolute sound review? As I said earlier, I have a Berkeley as well as an Esoteric X03 SE. Interestingly, my computer where my squeezebox server resides experienced some toasted ram to go with a toasted cpu when I installed the Juli@ so I have been listening to the Esot...
Apple TV vs Squeezebox touch The Touch is easy, cheap, sounds great and plays hi res music! up to 96k/24 off a usb stick. sounds incredible.
Esoteric K03 I think you mean me with the Shakti's, Primare. I have stats so I don't really have any first order or side reflections and its a small room so I only have the shaktis in each corner with an echo buster 4/2 behind each shakti. You can actually hea...
Looking for a DAC for the Squeezebox Touch Ronrags, it all depends on what kind of gear you have, how revealing, etc. You should experience a tad more in dynamics and more of a 3d sound holographic soundstage. You really need a good dac to get the sound out of a touch. I reclock and upsamp...
Is berkeley dac as good as absolute sound review? I have it and love it and the review is very accurate. It really does it right. I have an Esoteric X03SE and using it as a transport into the berkeley for HDCD is a revelation. I don't think the review mentioned how well an HDCD encoder it is. And...
Esoteric K03 I thought I saw a K-03 thread Please be prepared for well over 1,000 hours for break in. Don't start thinking it is too bright or analytical. It needs major breakin. Seriously.
Good turntable needed, need recomendations. Easy decision for me - a Bauer Audio DPS Table ($10k - incredible sound) and a schroeder arm ($4-5k). $15k and nothing much out there will beat it within $30 grand.Seriously.
Help me build a fine PC sound system My PC goes via squeezebox into an Esoteric upconverter/clock into a berkeley dac direct to my amps. It sounds great. But, better than vinyl? I still have not found that but will keep listening.
Help me build a fine PC sound system Steve, I don't know how you can possibly defend USB with an argument about how a TAS reviewer uses it as a reference. I listen with my own ears. TAS also gave a great review to the Berkeley - actually saying that the berkeley/usb/berkeley dac blew...
Help me build a fine PC sound system Steve, My opinion is NOT based on misinformation that I have read on forums. I am a hard core PC user, have 30 years experience and have custom built over 30 machines - all cutting edge. I ahve also been an audiophile for that many years and have ...
Help me build a fine PC sound system Steve,USB was neber designed for audio. That's a basic premis. Data is transmitted in packets - not good for an audio signal. USB is just another example of trying to make ther best out of something not very good.I have not heard the Berkeley, but...
Help me build a fine PC sound system I am a firm believer that USB sucks and was just never intended for audio. The new Berkeley appears to be the first to finally get around USB's technical inferiority. I look forward to a listen of a mac mini and the berkeley USB interface. |
