Speaker help....?
If you run monitors, then you will need to also move stands, probably massed stands. A small floorstander makes more sense. Spendor A-5 is light, sounds good.
Decent moderate priced speaker for large room
There is a pair of Coincident Triumphs for sale $650. Very efficient (92db) so power is of no real concern. Excellent low level resolution. My pair did not come with grills however, so if that's necessary you will need to check with seller.
I need your advice on system for a non-audiophile
NAD L-53 DVD/CD/tuner/amp is listed for $375. That is a respectable unit for the money and would pair nicely with Paradigm, Axiom, Usher or any number of decent monitors.
I need your advice on system for a non-audiophile
I've set up dozens of systems over the years. Just did an Arcam Mini-Solo with Usher 520 speaks and 24" massed stands and was quite amazed. Truthfully, I didn't think it would have as much soundstage, resolution and dynamics as it does. Simple, cl...
NAD 320bee
I'm sorry. How could this possibly increase the power output? Perhaps I've misunderstood the proposal. The NAD is designed for a specific output and all parameters work around that. If you need more power then a new amp is in order.
Speaker connection
Analysis Plus 9 is very respectable and I've run alot of wire over the decades. For less money Signal Cable is very difficult to beat.
What monitor speakers mate well w/ Cambridge Audio
Focal makes a nice line of monitors. "Budget" is a very non-descript term. A dollar amount would help.

For critical listening after the break-in period, definitely use either shotgun or decent quality jumpers. The bars are terrible.
Rickie Lee Jones "Pop Pop"
Love the recording and performance. Found that it really improves with a good destat from the Bedini. Rolls the rough off and opens up everything.Have owned the album since its debut and found its sonic character to change dramatically depending o...
An Integrated to replace Adcom 555II & 500II ??
Rega and Exposure both make very musical integrated amps and will splash the Adcom gear. The Plinius suggestion is also very good.
Lost that "Tube Magic". Can you help?
VTL or Manley are so musical and mostly slay the complaints about tube gear being slow with sloppy bass and truncated highs. This gear works well, is reliable and they do not grind their tubes into the ground by running them so hot. Tube life runs...
power condtioner
I very cynically took home a Furman 15i power conditioner after extensive research and was astonished at the improvement of everything. The system sounds blacker, more defined and controlled. I experienced no loss of dynamics. I really didn't want...
Power Strip Question - PLEASE HELP
Furman makes a very good $150 eight outlet power strip which would seem to accommodate your needs. They may push you towards two different strips or say that isolation between the pieces/outlets is adequate.
no excitement from my Cambridge 840 cd
Here's the deal. Firstly, the Cambridge is probably not broken in. Leave it powered up at all times and within a month of use it should much better. I owned this unit and it benefits greatly from an external DAC which fills it out, images better a...
Peachtree Decco speaker decision help
Rega R1 is great, look at the Axiom speakers also. Easy to drive and the aluminum drivers are surprisingly smooth. I owned a pair and drove them well with just a little NAD L-40 which is a whopping 20wpr.
