Any of you own a classic Modern Stereo Console?
Must admit……do not get any of this.  So you want speakers firing at my knees?  And the drivers suffering suffocating boxitis?  They sound seriously confined.  Only commenting on sound reproduction, not the desire to live retro cool mid-century. l...
Steve Guttenberg reviews an ATC active?
Addendum.  Besides being an audiophile, I’m a financial guy.  Purchasing quality once as opposed to chasing product multiple times is from a fiduciary aspect far more responsible. A car addict friend of mine owned over 300 vehicles.  His statemen...
The Emperor Has No Clothes!!
Man, I’ve got to stop wandering into bad neighborhoods.
Steve Guttenberg reviews an ATC active?
My gate swings both ways.  I run ATC active and passive....and love them all! ATC 50 and 40 actives, ATC SCM 20 and 7.  Why not?  I feel as if the only 'fault' ATC transducers have, is an unforgiving nature towards everything in front of them.  T...
Help . . . I’m dumber than my active speakers!
Can only assume these are new and need serious break-in time. Simple as that.  I've no experience with that active, only with several ATC actives and they are quite good in the areas of expectation mentioned. As I understand, your above system is...
Power cable Advice...
I run a loom of Furutech 4.1 terminated with the Fururtech's best connectors for my power cables.  They are fast, detailed and dynamic.  And I'm not compensating, don't need to.
Get Your Orders In Now!!!
Thanks.  I'm good.
Linn Classik cd/tuner/ integrated amplifier
I owned one for a few years.  For a one box it is decent.  They claim 75 watts, but that is fully.  Split that in half per channel.  You need run bananas only.  My CD tray needed some attention after I shipped it home from a contract doubled boxed...
Jazz LP Audiophile Recommendations
I’ve “Blues for Tee”, “Midnight Sugar”, “Misty” and “Autumn in New York”.  All are Three Blind Mice and extraordinary.  XRCD and FIM are also quite good. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsuyoshi_Yamamoto Best success in your search.
How long does Class A have?
Wow.  You just knew the dybbuks would emerge and seize the narrative.  So a majority is always right.  Rarely.  William Lendrum Mitchell, Brigadier General tried convincing the navy that projected air power would be considerable in the future.  Th...
Looking for recommendations for integrated with a more “organic” sound.
@mboldda1 I’m with you.  Reading AND math skills fail!  At least the Sugden suggested can be found used for the $2500 and possibly a bit more stated by OP.
Looking for recommendations for integrated with a more “organic” sound.
Sugden A21SE integrated already mentioned.  It’s really that good.  I’m listening to the older version right now through ATC 7 baby monitors.  Class A amplification is quite remarkable…..when done properly.  Best of luck finding your sound.
New Falcon ls3/5a Silvers in the house
Just wrote a review on newly acquired ATC 7 V3.  I have always believed that small monitors benefit greatly from Class A amplification and rarely are given that chance. I've owned original Rogers LS 3/5 A monitors and ran them with the Sugden.  I...
Luxman leaves me wanting
So you've got 30 wpc of Class A Luxman super stable current power.  And you don't like it.  It's okay.  Class A is a taste.  Nothing wrong.  I lived in the tube world for years and left it because my tastes changed and I now like super fast dynami...
Considering replacing old AR 38B
Just purchased used a pair of ATC SCM 7 (sealed cabinet) monitors.  Very inefficient and revealing of what they are fed, but very good speakers.  They play well in many environments with no port.  Alone or paired with a sub.  Best of luck with you...
