some help with speaker placement/purchase
Agree with rego about sealed design.  A sealed design simply is more often a controlled sound and less interactive with its surroundings.  I'm the guy who always flogs active speakers.  I'm the ATC fan.  Of course there are other sealed active spe...
Axe to grind know it alls
mapman is the new patron saint of critical thinking.  Ignore; your adrenal glands will thank you, your duodenal ulcer may not develop or grow and you may not contribute to that aneurysm or infarct. Now go listen to something hot!
ATC SCM7 v3............on the way.......anyone use them?
Great choice.  ATC designs the SCM7 to do what it does well and no more.  It is well balanced, detailed and midrange magical.  They can be made to disappear with the right front end.  They do not thump, peel paint of walls or do the Rolling Stones...
You are invited on a "trip down memory lane".
VTL Tiny Triodes mono blocks, second version.  Only 500 pairs made.  They were gorgeous, small in stature and could scare the hell out of a lot of speakers much larger than them....... and I stupidly sold them.I took them to an audio shop to demo ...
Power Conditioner

As good as it gets
A bit of a slippery slope here.  Tubes really do make a difference, but as with everything, it's relative to parts quality supporting it all.  I spent a considerable sum on 300B tubes plus the others for my Manley preamp and it changed considerabl...
As good as it gets
Always a burn in period of perhaps 50 hours and of course tubes need 45 minutes to reach optimal thermal efficiency to stabilize and sound their best.
Power Cable from wall to my conditioner?
Cullen Cable Crossover II.  Terrific PC and not 1K.  Liberal return policy.
Audio Rack Selection
https://quadraspire.co.uk/svt.html  This rack should accommodate your needs.  The SVT series easily bested my Target stand by tightening the bass, dropping the noise floor, separating instruments and voices, improving the speed of attack.
tweeter replacement, original glued in
Thank you everyone for advice.  Ended up going Jeremy Clarkson on it, grabbing the center ring with tweeter core removed with plumber's wrench and yanking it!  Out it all came.  Yes, it was glued.  New tweeter soldered in and done.
Help building first tube system.
Naim Uniti Core music server $3,000, Audio Mirror DAC $2,500, Manley Jumbo Shrimp preamp $4,600, ATC SCM20ASL Pro mk2 $5,500.  Balance for ICs, PCs, stands, etc.  I believe the Naim doubles as a network player.  Speakers are active, so no amp need...
tweeter replacement, original glued in
I like the hairdryer idea.  I'll try it.  Just do not understand why it is glued.  Never run into this and I've modified/repaired a dozen pair of speakers.  I only found the complete tweeter and ordered two and that's okay as I don't know if there...
tweeter replacement, original glued in
erik,I already got to there and now have it in pieces.  I went to Madisound and ordered two replacements as closely matched as I can.  We're not in rarified air here.  Just need to remove the faceplates now.  That's the challenge without unnecessa...
tweeter replacement, original glued in

Budget Audiophile system under 2k
gsm18439 I like where you are going.  Those pieces speak music, not bump and grind.  I did own the Audio Refinement CD player and had lots of issues.  Otherwise, the line is so solid, and cheap now.Spica speakers, I redid the crossover and wiring ...
