Tweeter hiss?
I don't get any hiss until my volume is at 11:00 or so. The hiss is the noise floor of your system. I agree it's your amp, doubt an NAD would be much, if any, better.
Amp/Int. Amp to smooth the highs...
Adding a resistor may cause additional problems. People at Madisound know a lot about this subject but I think a resistor will change the crossover frequency. It can also cause phase distortions unless you add an inductor in parallel with the resi...
Floorstanders on wood floor, help
Are you sure its not your amp or other component IYS?

Ever hear of Hartley's? 16 ohm / 18" woofers. Not mine though.

Good link Rgodin. Interesting part in the article:". . .the entire circuitry of the PRe1 (plus the complexity of the second Acoustic Zen Silver Reference interconnect with its two RCA jacks) amounted to no more sonic influence than one high-qualit...
Wyetech, thoughts comments on amp.
Eralff have you talked to Coby at Hi Fi Logic in NJ? He has all Coincident speakers running with Atma sphere amp. Also the full line of Coincident cable.
Integrateds - Revisited Yet Again
I thought I5 brighter that Musical Fidelity A3.2 int. with latest AP Virgo II (or III?). The older M-F A300 ($1,000 used) sure doesn't sound bright to me but would in comparison to EC stuff I guess. A-300 would be a good choice for budget int. Con...

Crazy4blues, Crosby, Stills and Nash can. At least I think that was the group. Who knows, I only play music when deciding which component to buy.

Here are some expalantions from Jeff Rowland on amp design:measurements vs. what we hearoutput stage technologyApparently measurements overlook many audible problems in amp design.
Speakers for Creek 5350SE+Arcam FMJ CD23T
2nd the Epos voiced for Creek. Or B&W 602 s3, I didn't find the Creek could drive CDM 9's. Creek really doesn't have much power.
Subs without power amps
svs subs. They have a forum maybe at audiocircle.com or harmonicdisord.com
$3000 MF a3.2 seperates or Arye Integrated or ?
What's wrong with MF A3.2 int or A308 int?? Or Jeff Rowland Concentra int? All very fine products.
powerful amp to drive ATC 20T 83db
Timchen, you would need a HUGE amp if it ran only in class A. Why not try ATC's own integrated? I heard ATC passive and they sounded better with the ATC int. than ATC active 10's.
$10 / foot speaker wire
DeKay, sidetrack all you want, this has been interesting. Cables have to connect somehow.
