Is Marantz AV8805 good enough pre amp for McIntosh MC8207
Sorry cause first I didn't know what your speakers were. My bad. Yes, what you currently have are more than good enough for your B&W 683 S2. I think the Mac is somewhat overkill for your speakers. The Rotel amp will do just fine for your 683 S2.
Is Marantz AV8805 good enough pre amp for McIntosh MC8207
For your stereo listening you can get a high end very good stereo integrated amp. Doesn't have to be stereo separates. Really good stereo integrated amp such as the Gryphon Diablo analog integrated amp (expensive) but you will need a very good fro...
Is Marantz AV8805 good enough pre amp for McIntosh MC8207
If I were you I would get the Marantz AV8805 over the Mac MX122. If you want to go with Mac I suggest you look at the MX160 as this will be a step up sonically than the AV8805 or the MX122. However, the Marantz & the Mac MX122 are very good fo...
which Audio Research pre-amp?
Get the ARC Ref 10 linestage pre.
Still looking for an amplifier upgrade- but with a new twist.....
Get the Simaudio Evolution series amps.
HT Pre\pro with digital out
Why do you want to to tri-amplify your front speakers? What kind of speakers and amp(s) do you have?
Parasound P5 + A23 vs Musical Fidelity M5si
I can guarantee you that your Naim streamer + DAC combo will still outperform any current DACs in any integrated amps or preamps. Your Naim won't be able to decode or support MQA
Chord Dave Replacement
Agreed with timo62.
Parasound P5 + A23 vs Musical Fidelity M5si
No, it has nothing to do with the amplifier design circuitry (whether it’s class D digital design or class A/AB analog design). What I meant by an analog integrated amp was that I was simply referring to those integrated amps that do not have onbo...
Parasound P5 + A23 vs Musical Fidelity M5si
I would agree with the idea of separates due to many possibilities for upgrades down the road but the separate gears that the OP is considering are mediocre at best especially for his B&W 804 D.I’m pretty sure the Musical Fidelity M5Si will ou...
MidFi multi channel solution needed for HT.
+1 on the Rotel power amp. You should get the Rotel RMB-1585 five-channel amp. It retails for $3k new but try to look for a used one that can be had for around $2k ish. The RMB-1585 is a great amp for the money. The RMB-1585 is class AB design amp...
Parasound P5 + A23 vs Musical Fidelity M5si
Go with the Musical Fidelity M5Si. My advise is since you already have a streamer/DAC you should be looking for an analog integrated amp. I recommend the Rega Elicit-R analog integrated amp currently retails for $3k new. There are other options ou...
Oppo 105 D vs. DAC-transport combination.
@rvpiano No doubt that your Cyrus/Schiit combo sounded better than a stock Oppo 105.A stock Oppo 105 is ok and somewhat unlistentable when playing standard resolution materials eg CD especially bad recording CD. The stock 205 is quite a bit better...
High power handling speakers
Agreed on JBL. JBL usually can play loud without strain providing that your amp is up to the task. Not talking about AV receiver.

Get the ARC Ref 10 linestage if you can afford it. PSU is in a separate compartment unit. Quite a big step up from the Ref 6.I had this Ref 10 linestage in my previous setup but I have since upgraded my setup and system to something else. But I'm ...
