loading resistor question
This link may be of interest to you. Scroll down to get to the photo and instructions, though I don't know if it will work with your phono stage.
Damn Apple..a fence sitter's dilemma
My Mac Mini is six years old, and it works fine for audio. YMMV, but I've always felt that waiting is more exhausting than doing.
Bottlehead Seduction Clearaudio MM cartridge
If you like to tinker, you'll love the Bottlehead. I've one that I modified to my tastes. I use it with a Grace F9E on an old Denon table.
Changing sides- Adventures in tubeland
Auricaps are the upgraded capacitors for this amp, and they are good capacitors. I had a baby for a short time, and I really liked it, but if you were to upgrade any further than Auricap, you'd probably have more cap than amp. I'd wait then move i...
Jazz must have pressings???
I listen to anything with Art Blakey in it. Hank Mobley is another favorite. Yusaf Lateef's Live at Pep's is a classic recording, IMO, if just for Sister Mamie.

A first pressing of Sticky Fingers in scratch-tick-pop-free condition, with all artwork and inserts for $0.99. 2 mono-pressings of Wilson Pickett, which have to be heard to be believed. Again, $0.99 each. Mono-pressings of early Bob Dylan. Many ot...
MFSL Super Deep Cleaner or Enzyme?
I use the enzyme cleaner and steam. I was skeptical at first, but after listening to the records cleaned with Mofi, I wouldn't use anything else. You don't need much to get a really clean, click-free surface.
What's the cost of an entry level vinyl setup?
I began with $2200 a year or so ago. I'm up to $6000+ at this point. Really good sound can be had at $3000.
Rolling Stones Fans- I Need advice
Thanks, Audiofeil. So is the other one a first edition, second printing, or a second printing? I think deciphering the matrix code is throwing me off.
Iam a NEWBIE in analog, will someone help me
I have the pretty much the same rig, the only difference being I have a SDS and use an (solid-state) ASR Basis. I run all tubes except in the phono pre, so I know the absolute uncertainty of tube "is it necessary-ness". Sure, better tubes give you...

Great information Jwong. Here's a question: I have two copies of this album. Both are stamped "COC 59100". One has the address at the bottom but only the one COC code, at the top. The other has the code at the top and the bottom, but no address; i...
Big haul at local record show
Sorry, Azaud, the pun slipped under my radar. Yes, the cover was a bit frayed, which probably affects it's actual value. What was inside, however, turned out to be a fantastic surprise, and I was glad to have it in my hand as I left the store.
Big haul at local record show
I found a first pressing Sticky Fingers at Goodwill recently for 99 cents. No scratches, no surface noise. Cover was slighty beaten, but I felt lucky.
How important is ext. adj. for cartridge loading
If the preamp included all the features mentioned in you last post, then, yes, I would seriously consider buying it. Sounds too good to be true, yet I'd want a 75K impedance setting.
