Will a $700 turntable outperform a CD player? @guy-incognitoThank you. You have convinced me that I need to look into it. I was in an audio shop in Richmond, VA where the manager was talking about streaming. I'll see what they recommend. I understand that some services have better SQ than oth...
Will a $700 turntable outperform a CD player? @chakster People have tried to convince me to try streaming. Again, the convenience issue comes up. I don't know how it works. Do you access a complete album and have the ability to skip songs you might not care for, or do you seek particular song...
Will a $700 turntable outperform a CD player? @mahgister...By acoustical embeddings do you mean room treatment? If so, I'd be interested to know what you do. I feel like I should explore this before spending money to change components.
Will a $700 turntable outperform a CD player? I'm not going to make the argument that CDs can compare in sound quality to vinyl. But let's not forget the importance of the engineer's dedication to sound quality. Some labels sound great. While others suck. Every jazz CD I have on Bluenote is o...
Will a $700 turntable outperform a CD player? @chakster As a retiree that's a little insulting. But in my case it's also true. I am a candidate for knee replacement and I have no desire to sit through several songs I don't want to hear to get to the song I do want to hear. With CDs I can touc...
What do you sit on? Every once in a while people put out nuggets of information that may be of use to others. For example, I never considered the fabric choice on your seating arrangement to have an effect on sound quality. For people with exceptional hearing that mi...
What do you sit on? Some of you just can't help yourselves. The OP asked for help, another said he would wait until it was safer to shop (which is good common sense) and people go on the attack. Several of you seem to jump on every thread just to start insulting each...
Should people who can't solder, build or test their speakers be considered audiophiles? I should have said satire which can be related to sarcasm.
Should people who can't solder, build or test their speakers be considered audiophiles? Sarcasm doesn't work. It's just preaching to the choir. A good example is "All in the family". Brilliant writing, but instead of showing the people who needed a lesson in tolerance just how much of an idiot Archie Bunker was, he became a hero and ...
Are these fake? @danvignauYou've never misspelled a word?
Are these fake? coachpoconnor:I feel guilty for laughing. I wonder how many people actually considered trying it.
Are these fake? millercarbon: a peace offeringI have this question on a different thread. In your opinion, would a SimAudio Neo 260D used as a transport with my Lyngdorf TDAI 2200, be an improvement over a Linn Unidisk SC player?
Are these fake? millercarbonMaybe you should read your post again. Bringing CNN and MSNBC into the discussion about what constitutes fake has nothing to do with answering a question about audio equipment. You make your political views very clear in your posts. Ta...
Are these fake? +1 nd_72-1 millercarbonMillercarbon: why do you feel the need to continually bring your far right political views into discussions about audio equipment? I get it; any attempt to hold your hero accountable amounts to "fake news". You drank the koo...
How to add depth for classical music I never expected to come to Millercarbon's defense, but while I can't vouch for the HFTs, I can vouch for the SR Blue fuses. I replaced the fuses in a Lyngdorf TDAI 2200 and there was a noticeable improvement that I had not expected. |
