Amp suggestios for maggie mg12's I second magfan, you would be well served to just get a good and relatively inexpensive sub such as one of the sealed Martin Logan offerings. I keep the volume knob on my sub at 3, it is just barely noticable and does not at all interfere with wha...
Magnepan Adapters for Spade Cables? Banannas fit perfectly in my 1.6s, I imagin the 12s have the same binding terminals.
which not too expensive amp for Maggie 1.7 ? I am also on the Wyred bandwagon, the 500sx monos drive my 1.6s with ease. They do not come up for sale used too often and rightfully so, they are great amps. If you keep a lookout one can pick up a pair for 1k you just have to be paitent. With my...

Just got Audible Illusions L1, but it sound harsh Agreed, if you just got it you should replace the tubes so that you can keep track of the hours you put on them.
Tube Preamp for Solid State Monoblocks? I have been hunting for a tubed pre to mate with my class D monos. In your price range I would try out the Rogue 66. You could also pick up an older Audio Research unit. If a remote is not a must have there are quite a few more options.

Most Musical Subwoofers? If you are willing to spend the money I would look at the Martin Logan Descent, just as fast and deep as anything out there. They also have built in high pass filters to run your mains through for easy integration.
Preamp suggestions Modwright 9.0 might work well for you.
Have you heard Crystal Bowersox? My wife watches the show so sadly I have seen it many times. I agree with Richard, Bowersox is talented but her style does not appeal to me in the slightest. She is more of a one trick pony, sure she sounds like Joplin but that is all she has.
Does Apple airport express work well? I have no issues with mine cutting out, quality of the digital out is excellent. Analog out is fine for non critical listening
How good is Emotiva 2 channel gear?? One thing to keep in mind is that their gear is cheap becuase of their business model. They have built a loyal following by doing nothing more than putting out a good product, that should say something about their quality.
More help finding lossless downloads please Archive.org has a set by Calexico live in Tucson, not sure if you picked that one up yet.
My ears of tin are over 50 I am not yet 50 but recently went to an audiologist to get my hearing tested, I recommend that to everyone. I confirmed what I had already suspected, I lost the ability to hear high frequencies, I top out at about 16khz. Now I pay little attention... |
