Opinions - The Absolute Sound French Fries has it right. If you like audio get an audio magazine, something to look at and read when bored. I never understood why people think it is OK to trash magazines and their writers, who cares it is just a magazine. Most product magazine...
Need Coaching re: Maggies & Subs Go with the 1.7, your room is similar is size to mine and they work just fine. Not sure of your budget but any of the upper end Martin Logan subs are good, Grotto and Depth being the most affordable. Velodynes also work, good things have been said...
Class D with low-end drive/slam I would put Wyred 4 Sound on the list of world class D amps. Cheaper than Bel Canto and uses similar proprietary input stage. Can buy new in your price range.
New macbook air for computer audio I second the refurb option, I always buy all my apple products refurbed. There is absolutely no difference between a refurbed unit an a new one other than the box they come in. Now is actually a great time to get the previous generation, they have...

What`s your fave Audiophile Chill Out recording? Max Melvin "Satellites" is pretty good. Any of the Space Night compilations on Elektrolux are good also.
The Emotiva XDA-1 The volume issues was also my main concern, knowing that it could be bypassed is a big plus for me.
The Best Polished Glass Toslink Optical Cables? I have also been hunting for a glass toslink for a second system I am putting together. I have yet to come up with any other options either. This is a bit surprising since it is generally accepted that glass performs better than plastic, yet very ...
Thoughts on nOrh se-9 I actually picked a SE-9 here for quite a bargain, I will report one the combo next month.
The Best Polished Glass Toslink Optical Cables? Good article on 6mooons from 2002 comparing toslink and coax, in summary there is no difference. Toslink is immune from gound issues that can be introduced by coax cables, so in that respect it is actually better. |
