Accuphase E-470 or Luxman 590ax II ?
oranfoster, that last paragraph is interesting. I wonder why. The heat factor was a concern for me, having never owned either Class A, or tubes. I was happy that the amp never gets more than warm.L.

The point really should be is the product a valid recomendation that the OP may like? The point actually is whether the recommendation is valid (or perhaps 'uncolored' would be a better adjective) due to the fact that your livelihood is selling wh...
Accuphase E-470 or Luxman 590ax II ?
Thanks,Greg. The harsh reality is I may never have my other pieces equal to the amp. But I'm looking.
Accuphase E-470 or Luxman 590ax II ?
gryphongryph, I own the Luxman L-590AX. I wouldn’t call the sound warm. If I had to describe it, I’d say it’s neutral & uncolored, without being harsh or stark. I’d also take exception to the statement that it "runs hot". It gets warm, that’s ...

Not for a minute am I suggesting that any one group not be allowed to participate. On the other hand, no one should run rough-shod over the thread, either. That's all.

Audiotroy, even though I’m new here, I’ve belonged to many forums in the last 25 years. I’m not confused what ’hijacking’ is. Nor salesmanship. As I said, if you have something to add, I don’t think anyone would complain, if you did it in a differ...

Dave, I'll add my two cents, as a newcomer. I've been here less than a year, look through the forum on a somewhat casual basis, and knew (or felt I knew) exactly who the OP was talking about. It's that obvious. Most everything of yours that I've r...

I know what MDF is, I've used miles of it. The material itself doesn't vary to any great degree. Like everything, it has it's pros and cons. If the supports are adequately designed, it's fine. Presumably with a high quality rack, this should be th...

Depends on the configuration, I guess. I don't generally use the words "good" and "MDF" in the same sentence. It's basically glorified cardboard, although I'm sure it has uses.

glad to help, plus, I learned something myself. One thing that hasn't come up - this thing is heavy. It's 62#. A rack with an MDF shelf isn't going to cut it. Hell, the shipping box weighs more than some amps, it's 3 layers of very heavy cardboard,...

steventoney, I can't tell you what changes were made between the AX and the AXII.   I have read that the L-590AX incorporates a larger power supply over the earlier model, which was maybe the L-590AII.I've never seen an L-590axII for sale on the s...

Yes, an L-590AX, which is the version prior to the newest model. My speakers are the Paradigm S6’s, which are now discontinued. One thing that I think I mentioned earlier, the 590 isn’t low-powered. Luxman’s literature is misleading, the amp is rat...

steventoney, you're welcome to come hear mine. Still a long drive, I'm another 1½ hours past Portland. Nothing fancy, and not an ideal room, but would probably still give you an idea. L.
