Dedicated Line - Things to consider @immatthewj , I wasn't attempting to single you out, apologies for that. I just look at this in a pretty linear way, electricity flowing downstream from the panel, even though that's not a true representation. I'm not an electrician, but have work...
Dedicated Line - Things to consider It's just semantics, but a lot of these posts would be easier to read if they were worded a little differently. Most professionals don't think of wiring as originating at an outlet in a room and going to the electrical panel, quite the opposite.
Luxman L590AX vs.590AXii Enjoy it.
Luxman L590AX vs.590AXii Personally, I'd buy the newer version, if nothing else, it's newer. I don't know what your situation is, money-wise, nor the cost of either. I'd opt for a 4 year old amp over a 10 year old one. Either amp will drive those speakers, I think there's...
Luxman L590AX vs.590AXii Found this also - Differences Between Luxman L-590AX and L-590AXII In order to achieve power without sonic compromise, Luxman implemented its ODNF 4.0 drive circuit utilizing a three-parallel push-pull structure with three-stage Darlington. A Lu...
Luxman L590AX vs.590AXii The main difference, as I recall, is a beefed up output stage in the MkII. Edit - Actually, it was the power supply - "The power supply uses a large power transformer with an E-shaped core and a thicker primary wire, as well as eight buffer capac...
Wiring 2 outlets to 2 dedicated 20 amp circuits with a single 10/3 electrical wire. What a mess? Did you actually read the part where jea48 explained how your new work could easily be converted to one dedicated circuit in about 10 minutes? Then add a second one, and you're finished. You're out some additional money due to the fir...
Luxman 590AX II Break-In @ghdprentice I actually own the Luxman L-590AX (not the newer MkII version). Early on, I read everything I could find on the amp, which isn’t a lot. Here’s just one item https://beterbeeldengeluid.nl/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/HFN_Luxman-L-590A...
Luxman 590AX II Break-In The 590 isn't low power. It will put out 90w/channel into 8 ohms, and 160w into 4 ohms. It's not a monster amp, but it's more powerful than Luxman's specs would suggest. Wish I had anything else to offer.
Advice & thoughts on DIY Recap/Restoration of vintage amp/equipment I have a Pioneer SX-750 receiver that I bought new in 1977. A few years ago, I decided that it needed some work done on it, and I’ve had almost zero satisfaction taking it to a shop over the years. I went online to AudioKarma, then the Pioneer sub...
Advice on Integrated Receiver My speakers are Paradigm Signature S6’s. Again, I’m running a little bit different amp, the 590AX is Class A up to 30 watts. The 509X you’re looking at is 120w/channel into 8 ohms. Here’s a review from a few years ago at Stereophile. I ...
Advice on Integrated Receiver The Luxman should be stunning. I haven't heard the L-509X, but I own the L-590AX, which is everything I could have imagined, and more. I wouldn't ditch the speakers before you hear the new amp.
Snowballs hilde45, it's the FBI's job to do sketchy stuff these days. Completely factual.
The difference between an Audiophile and a Stereophile? Find your Shift key. Then post.
Advice on Integrated Receiver Been awhile, but I remember reading the review in Stereophile of those speakers. I'm inclined to think it may be your amp. And not necessarily the power, but the amp itself. You know anyone else with another integrated you could try? |
