Pre for Cayin's integrated?
I have the Cayin 100 and use the VAS Citation I preamp with it in bypass mode which makes it a power amp. Works great. In bypass mode the remote will not control volume, it must be done from the preamp. Cayin/VAS makes great products that produce ...
Turntable Placement
Best it be on a side wall, about one third the distance from the speaker wall. Be sure to put an acoustic screen on the side of the stand facing the speakers. As Pryso has pointed out, all sound waves that directly impact the TT and cartridge degr...
best cd player to get??
a refurb sony 595, often available on SonyStyle for about $60 with free shipping. Yes it has great sound, SACD's too, and if you don't like it SonyStyle will come get it for a full refund.

A Manufacturer that pays return shipping
Lean on the dealer that sold you the speakers.
How many LP's do you own? How long did it take?
Acquired my first lp in 1952, last count indicated 12,000 are present. Of course they are kept company by the 3000 cassettes, 4000 R2R, 1000 eight tracks and 6000 cd's. Will the madness ever stop?
Listening Chair?
Stressless is the way to go. For years I had an Emaes/Knoll chair, in original rosewood. I sold it off for $7K and purchased a Stressless which is way more comfortable.
How many albums do you need ?
One more then you have.
mono cartridge vs stereo
A mono only cartridge will bring a significant improvement. I have two arms on my TT, one is stereo the other mono. I've found that set up to work best, that way the cartridge alignments are set up correctly.
Need a Magnepan UniTrac I tonearm repaired
I would scrap the arm and get something more current. The technology has vastly improved over the last 30 years, especially as relates to the SOTA products. Perhaps they can provide you a refurb arm that they know mates well with their line. It sh...
how to a/b test turntables
Be careful, many studies have been done that listen tests have a heavy bias to the more expensive components, and not because they are better. Try to set up a double blind test when you do the audition. For some insights into the bias problem chec...
Are High End Audio Products Unreliable?
Few electronic manufacturers do any 'burn in' any more. The business model is to pass that on to the consumer/dealer, it is just more cost effective to do so. As most know, if an electronic product will fail, it most likely does so in the first 10...
Another dedicated circuit question
Not if they are fully shielded, which they should be.
Best Speakers for around $2000
Look into some used PROAC's, which will mate weel with your EXimus.
Where should I go next? Where are my weak links?
Please, RIP and just enjoy the music. Your system is well balanced with quality gear. Why drive yourself crazy. Wait until your house burns down, which will give you an excuse to start over. Put more money in media and go to some live concerts.
