@jasbirnandra you might want to edit your original question to ask will a power cord make an improvement. It is surprising, how often folks around here, conflate “different“ with “better“ and “cost“ with “quality”.
"Audiophile" Power Cables: The Greatest Audio Conspiracy Theory of All Time?
I am at peace with these questions ever since I realized that hi-fi is part of the entertainment industry, not the science world. Audiophiles who follow the technical path have technically excellent systems audiophiles who follow the please yourse...
How much does a DAC do the more expensive it is?
If that was your point, Tony, you are right I did miss it. However, I still don’t see where the cost of ownership comes out less. I have heard extraordinary systems, and they have sounded extra ordinary with the music that was played for me on th...
How much does a DAC do the more expensive it is?
This whole “cost equals sound quality“ argument in hi-fi is very suspect. Here are a couple of reasons why.  A.) In many, if not all hi-fi components, the case equals more than half the cost of the component. Thus, you are paying for looks not fo...
How much does a DAC do the more expensive it is?
$11,000 DAC used will likely enjoy his purchase immensely with potentially a lower cost of ownership than the person who bought the $1100 DAC new. Tony, accepting your hypothetical numbers the person who bought the $1100 dac loses $1000 in valu...
Recommend A New DAC Between $1000 and $2000
I second the Rme adi2 suggestion. It is a gem.

Network optimization for serious streamers
@sns does connecting a second router to a modem require subscription to a second service from the ISP or is it permitted on a single subscription?
Network optimization for serious streamers
@sns Just curious, are you measuring this lower background noise level and if so, could you please explain how? If not, and these are listening tests, would you mind sharing what the ambient noise level in your listening room is so we can compare ...
To Tube or not to Tube, that is the question
@dekay  Thanks but the ST35 is also available from Dynakit directly. I learned this when I gave him a call. Seems the business has been paired back to a one man operation from home and he prefers to take orders by phone. Apparently he has not upd...
To Tube or not to Tube, that is the question
However, the ST70 uses a pentode for this task, where the ST70 uses a much more linear triode. @atmasphere  This seems to be a typo, did you mean theST35 is a linear triode? BTW I read your article on amp design paradigms this morning. Good St...
To Tube or not to Tube, that is the question
I might add I am leaning towards the Dynakit ST-35 for 3 reasons. It has more power, 17w vs 2w, it's a NJ company and i could drive to get it, no shipping risk, AND it was favorably mention by @atmasphere , which carries a lot of weight with me :-)
To Tube or not to Tube, that is the question
@evank Funny I bought a pair of Brimars from Upscale but they were noisy and they gave me all kinds of static about replacing them, so I went back to the JJ's. I think they give a more defined sound which I like, the Brimars sounded more muted to ...
When CDs first came onto the market in 1982 .......
For me the reliable lack of surface noise was the standout feature, perhaps that is the same as the perceived clarity you mention but I also recently read that the usable dynamic range was much better, which matches my recollection of those first ...
