VTF, VTA, SRA, and 92 degrees - question
Tony, can you hear any difference between 1 degree changes?
Installing Dedicated Lines.... Need advise
Make sure you hire a qualified electrician who is also trained in stereo home installations. We can thank the popularity of home theater custom installation for electrical installation designed to reduce ground loops, hums, isolation etc.My electr...
VTF, VTA, SRA, and 92 degrees - question
I assume that you are using a digital microscope and overlaying the image with digital protractor to measure SRA. How are you measuring VTA?
VTF, VTA, SRA, and 92 degrees - question
It really doesn’t matter if you pick 92 degree SRA or the manufacture’s recommended VTA, because they are both just “starting” points in which you fine tune and adjust by ear. No 2 cartridges of the same make and model are the same; therefore, the...
Best current 845 Tubes
I would hazard a guess that 99.8% of all 845 tube users have never seen, never mind heard, an original WE 845 tube. Psvane is capitalizing on the Western Electric name that was made famous with their 300B tubes. I would not be an early adopter of ...
PS Audio Power Point , rebadge or real?
Perhaps PS Audio submitted their receptacles for NEMA/ UL/CSA Hospital Grade certification?? More likely a Leviton or Hubbell rebrand with modifications.
Manley Snapper Bi-amp or Bi-wire Neo-Classic 250
I have no expereince with that speaker combo, but the Neo-Classic is light years better than the Snapper.
regarging components that have a 20a AC IEC
Your owner's manual will be your best source of information. When I owned a ML 333, it came with a captive 15amp cord to be used with a standard 15amp circuit. I later converted the cord to a 30amp and used a 30amp dedicated circuit and could not ...
Non-Latching or No Latch Female XLR Connector
Why not post the manufacture? Perhaps someone with a similar unit will have a solution. IMHO your post is not defamatory; you're just looking for a solution to what I hope is a simple fix.
Soundsmith VPI Zephyr vs. Dynavector 17D3??
What you are describing is a cartridge that is yet to fully break in. Give the Zephyr some time before looking for alternatives.
regarging components that have a 20a AC IEC
Do it the right way. Install a dedicated 20amp circuit and use a proper 20amp IEC power cord. Anything else will compromise the performance of your amps. Don’t forget that you new amps are designed to draw up to 20amps of current, therefore, if yo...
vpi JMW arm lengths
I've owned most of VPI's 10, 10.5 and 12 inch arms. They all use the same pivot structures. There have been 2 generations of the pivot. The first generation was a cone shaped pivot which was affix to the base through a hole and a set screw. The ne...
Linn CD12 MK3
Try posting your question on the Linn forum, you will have a better chance of getting your answer.
vpi JMW arm lengths
Yes, you can use any base and any tonearm i.e. you can use a classic base with a 12 inch arm, BUT you will need to reposition the base to the correct S2P distance for EACH arm with varying lengths. Also, please note that some older bases have a to...
VPI Classic 1 upgrade
I would wait on the 3D. Lately VPI has a history up refining their design on fly. In the next year will see a series 3 version. The Classic 3 is a proven design and has been "field" tested to be an excellent upgrade from the 1and 2.
