Any Levinson owners/critics out there?
My first high end system was ML 20.6 mono amps and a ML 26S pre-amp with the teflon boards. You never forget your first love, and I have only fond memories of that Levinson based system. I have listened to the newer ML gear, and to my ears, the so...
Best value power condtioners....Used is ok
John, I have never seen a used Foundation Research LC-1 or LC-2 on the used market, therefore, making their procurement at a discounted price very difficult. I have 2 LC-1's feeding my DAC and Genesis Digital Lens, and a LC-2 feeding my tube amp. ...
Best value power condtioners....Used is ok
I have to both agree and disagree with Stehno. The Foundation Research LC-1 and 2 are incredible power line conditioners, and to my ears, the best available. The only draw back of the LC-1 and 2 is that the line conditioner is incorporated into th...
TUNERS..anyone?
The reason FM sounds so darn good is because it is FREE and exposes you to both different artist and types of music!!!!
Sonic Frontiers Power 1 good deal or foolish?
Buy it, plug it in, and enjoy it. Once you start mentioning audio and investment in the same sentence, you're doomed!! SFI is well known for their parts and build quality. Service will not be a problem.
TUNERS..anyone?
I've owned many tuners in the past with varying results. Magnum Dynalab and Fanfare tuners have an excellent reputation, but I was a bit disappointed with my Magnum once I started to compare it against vintage tuners. I have spent and lost allot o...
Parts Connection - Now where do I find parts?
Natalie, I have to disagree with your above noted statement. The Parts Connexion was started by Chris Johnson, founder and former president of Sonic Frontiers and The Parts Connection, and run by former SFI/TPC personnel. What makes you say otherw...
Does anybody knows................................
Don't know the answer to your question, but I use to own a pair of 20.6 mono amps, and I am very familiar with the sound of the 23.5. IMO, the newer ML amps do not have the same musicality as the 20.6 or 23.5 or even the older ML2s. Those were bea...
I'm Freaked Out by this Tube comparison
Did you try putting the 6922 from your SF into your ARC amp, and did the sound of your ARC change? I'm curious as the ARC's sensitivity to a change in input tubes.
Do you use spikes for tile/marbel floor?
Replace the spikes with Black Diamond Racing Cones. The BDR cones will not harm your floor and will allow your speakers to reach their full potential.
Meadowlarks Biwire a big differance?
I went from a single wire with jumpers, to a bi-wired cable, to a shotgun (2 sets of single cables) configuration, with each step making a most noticeable difference. I personally would forget the single bi-wire approach and jump right into a doub...
Mono Amp Problem Help me
Try swapping the tubes between the two monos, this way you can determine if the tubes are to blame. No one likes to have a problem with their system, but what's even more frustrating is the inability to diagnosis the problem. In your case, I hope ...
A pass Labs X250 amp worth a divorce?
This hobby is getting ridiculously expensive. Make sure you get a home trial for the X250 before you decide to put your wife up on SpouseBeGon.com. On a serious note, the X250 is a much more refined amp than the Bryston, especially in the midrange.
EAD DSP 7000 MK3 - Balanced output setting
The factory setting is 4 volts and you have the option of increasing the output to either 8 or 12 volts RMS. To change the factory setting, power the unit down and locate the twelve-position DIP switches on the mother board. The 8 volt DIP seting ...
