How does the VPI Aries II stand up to current mid priced tables? The Aries !! is a quite good table. The arm can be a bit tweaky, but once set up (not THAT hard), it can be very satisfying. The weakness in the table is the unipivot arm. Gimballed arms seem to perform better, but the JMW arm will work well ...
What should I expect after installing a new power management system? After installing a new power management system, you should expect a smaller balance in your bank account. Improvement in performance, if any, will most likely be based on the psychological need to justify they expense.
Turn off or leave on? SS amps stay on 24/7 unless I go on vacation and leave the house. Other equipment, mostly tubes and hybrid devices stays off until needed. The amps draw almost no current and run very cool. It can take over an hour for them to warm up.
A CD PLAYER whose sound quality NOT AFFECTED by the DAC? OP @moose89 The DAC takes the digital data encoded on the CD and converts it to the analog audio signal to your system using a DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter). Tubes becoming hard to get? I haven't had any problems. Still using original tubes. They are run very conservatively by design. I don't expect to change tubes before I die. So it's not an issue.

Toilet Paper to Vacuum Tubes At some point in the not too distant future, it seems rational that a few equipment manufacturers will band together to create a facility to build vacuum tubes. It isn't rocket science (it's actually pre-rocket science). Those who choose to use ...
Is Old Music Killing New Music? I don't think that "new music" is being killed by old music. It is being killed by its lack of music. If old music is involved at all, it was not a difficult task to dump what is being passed on to us as "new music." |
