What's your "buy one of these and get it re-tipped" cartridge suggestion for a DL103 fan?
Very little. While I do have a DL103R, my lack of a tonearm over 9” makes conical/spherical styli pickups less than optimal. The Hana EL is anything but clinical and while it does slightly sacrifice “meat on the bone” in the bottom octaves by comp...
What's your "buy one of these and get it re-tipped" cartridge suggestion for a DL103 fan?
I was right there w/chakster thinking an NOS AT OC9 III would be ideal for funny money.Maybe a Hana EL could be considered. When I first heard that cartridge after installing it on my VPI Scout, I made a comment that it was never coming off. Very i...

Technics 1200 G a Forever Turntable?
Happy hunting! It will definitely be worth waiting for.As time goes by it will be ripe for upgrades such as an improved record mat and/or tonearm.Regarding mats, I believe the late Art Dudley had it right, “The thick rubber record mat, unrepentant...
Flat speaker sound/preamp the culprit?/external EQ needed?
From what I can see online (Rogue Owner's Manuals) the Tempest & Tempest II do not feature an internal phono circuit, just a line level input labeled as such? While not familiar with the U-Turn tonearm specifically, cartridges do respond tonall...
Flexible Shielded Tonearm IC?
I'd recommend a pair of Mogami W2549 using these 90s' on the input:https://www.redco.com/Switchcraft-3502RABAU.html
“Marks on the underside”
That's like someone returning a record because of a "tick" on the leadout . . .

Setting SME 309 with new cartridge.
Major pointers? Here's a few I can think of: - Make sure the 2 lateral 3mm clamp bolts in the HTA base are loose enough before making HTA overhang adjustments with the HTA Key inserted. A simple lateral manipulation of the tonearm rest/support brac...

VPI Classic Setup By Brian Walsh
The Original VPI Classic is a monster of a turntable. HW modeled it after the early Empire turntables with the big “4-hole flange” Hurst motors in front left motor position as the Pabst were done. Later models/versions with smaller motors in the r...
Onzo Zero Dust... Deflated?
You'll see the moongel is different. No problem in peeling your Onzow apart to clean it. I've been using the same one for over 10 years. When they get filthy, just clean under purified water, shake off excess and let air dry before putting it back...
What amplifiers/integrateds do you like with Cornwall IVs?
jbhiller - seems like you’ve got yourself a few winners there! I’m not surprised the PL lit them up, but the SS Mambo is a definite bonus 👍
what are your cartridge set up go to
+1 on the Dennesen Soundtractor. Super accurate and easy. The Neve knockoff has exact geometry but is not as easy to see visually in the target. The original Dennesen (Baerwald) uses a dimple for the stylus just like the brilliant SME protractors ...
What amplifiers/integrateds do you like with Cornwall IVs?
First off, I was never a Klipsch fan back in my retail daze until I heard the mid-’80s version of the Cornwall II hooked up to a Kyocera stack w/an R861 receiver. All Walnut side panels in CWD walnut audio furniture & those walnut CIIs. A Geor...
