Review of the SMARTractor and SMARTstylus After putting my tools away, I'll "set the cartridge for [my] preferred level of distortion ... by ear" every time.nice work IMO: http://www.vacuumstate.com/fileupload/GuruSetUp.pdf
Warm, rich but detailed SS preamp (made you give up tubes) Sutherland Director if you can find one. Rather similar to Ron’s earlier C-2000 which is also stunning. Works very well with the original $15 power cord which should be saved for any future replacement evaluation(s). RCA connectivity only. Oh yeah...
Anyone have a fully upgraded KAB 1200? The KAB PSU mods are an easy recommendation as are the Isonoe Sorbothane Boots from KAB. I’ve used the older switched mode PS units sporting the green light box to wonderful results. For the platter bearing, EAR Isodamp SD-125PSA (same stuff used b...
Integrated Amp Question for a Newbie to the Forum Not on your highly regarded list, but the Exposure gear is a good fit with your Monitor Audio. Consider the Exposure 3010S2D
What about Uni Din? I’ve used Clearaudio jigs in the past with a target behind Baerwald (closer to the pivot) and felt it sounded excellent.
What about Uni Din? When you align a cartridge by Stevenson it will be backward (not forward) compared to Baerwald on a tonearm.May have to give it a go. Thanks for that clarification!
Anybody added a full vinyl setup to system? And? jakesnak:https://www.goldpt.com/sw2x.htmlLooks interesting . . .
What is the Silliest Accessory You Have Ever Seen. Cranial Coupling - three tip toes place under the headband of your favorite headphones. Points down of course :-)
What about Uni Din? To these ears, Baerwald has a lot going for it. I find Lofgren B, Stevensen, Uni Din or anything that is more leading edge forward in the arm to actually sound that way - forward.Another interesting take on the process:http://www.vacuumstate.com/f...
16 ohm speakers: any amp sounds better with more resolution. speaker cables less critical. Elliott,.4 should equal 40 millivolts yes. That’s where I would set it. Spoke w/Steve today & he’ll be glad to assist you. And yes, the 8 ohm “shop” load should be fine 👍
16 ohm speakers: any amp sounds better with more resolution. speaker cables less critical. Elliott - The multimeter will be set to Volts DC.Things are really well laid out internally and easy to see with the bottom cover removed. The speakers should be connected (fairly certain 16 ohm taps are fine) and unit powered up while resting on ...
Anybody added a full vinyl setup to system? And? Welcome to the vinyl club Jeff! There is more to life than fast food ;-)I had a friend recently take the vinyl plunge with his system and he couldn't be happier! At the end of the day it really does come down to native formats and the overall produ...
How old is your cartridge? It is very possible for some cartridges to last seemingly forever while others can have a worn stylus in as few as 800 hours. I've seen both.At the end of the day, diamonds do have different hardness. A user won't know what they have 'til they know.
16 ohm speakers: any amp sounds better with more resolution. speaker cables less critical. Elliott - That original A88T Steve brought into the US w/the 16ohm output transformers is a peach. I have no doubt about the sound you’re getting. Very cool speakers! As you’ve heard, the sound off the amps lower impedance taps will be less spaciou...
What's your "buy one of these and get it re-tipped" cartridge suggestion for a DL103 fan? Paul Rigby, who’s reference is a Denon DL-103, reviews the Hana EL and the Hana EH:https://theaudiophileman.com/hana-sisters-el-eh-moving-coil-cartridges/ |
