Add a Subwoofer to my Vandersteen 1ce s or replace with Revel Concerta2 F36
voodooman13 - Please keep in mind that the 2 has evolved dramatically throughout its ~40 year run.  Parts and drivers have been improved significantly over the years.  I think there may be details about the 2's evolution on Vandersteen's web site....
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Hey, peterr53, I was having just keeping up with your pace of work on the Ohms!  Take your time, of course, but do keep us posted, please.
High quality interconnects - bargain price
Just a simple thank you, gregkohanmim.  Some of us appreciate heads up for potential bargains and less well-known audio solutions.  Your post is appreciated.

My personal experience was similar to yours; trying to improve on the sound of Vandersteen 1Cs. I had a Def Tech sub, but it wasn’t doing the trick. I eventually acquired a pair of Vandy 2Wq subs. Better, but I still found the sound wanting. I upg...
Chapman Audio Systems
I just saw this post.  My local audio club is scheduled to meet at an Authorized Demonstration Facility for Chapman Audio loudspeakers in June.  You have whet my curiosity for this event.  I will try to post my impressions following the audition.
Oppo Sonica DAC Expected this fall
mofi - congrats!  Please post your impressions here when you have a chance.  I have blown my 2017 hifi budget already, so this is a 2018 purchase at the earliest for me.  Without getting into a flame war, I need the gapless playback abaility.  Tha...
The awful truth about CDs, do they have the same shelve life as LP's ?
I think this was already touched on, but the durability issue applies mainly to CD-Rs.  These use a heat-reactive ink layer which allows a laser to burn the digital signal onto the disc.  This ink can fail over time.  I have a few CD-Rs I burned i...
Looking to build a system for under $5k
@kuppe38 - I was just making a short list off the top of my head of dealers I have visited recently.  I actually bought my Vandersteens from Audio Nexus (in 2000), as well as my first decent CD player.  I really liked the way I was treated there. ...
Looking to build a system for under $5k
YMMV, of course, but Vandersteen 1Cs were my first real hi-fi speakers.  While they sounded good at the dealer, they never really worked in my home.  I added subwoofers, replaced my amp, preamp (with a tubed preamp), wires and digital front end.  ...
Need Help Ripping My CD Collection
I second dbPoweramp.  Great program.
Assistance needed with system component configuration
Thanks, Greg.  I will try to find an old Niles box.  I forgot about those!
Assistance needed with system component configuration
So, I have finally found a topic about which audiophiles have no opinions?  Wow!
need more inputs & outputs to run tape machines
I have similar issue as the OP.  I am considering the use of Y cables to split the signal, but I am concerned about the effect that may have on the quality of the signal.  The switch box one post links to is probably no better than the old Rat Sha...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Thanks, Peter.  Rest assured, we are reading and trying to absorb your thoughts.  For those of us with no engineering background, your work is amazing.  I could never attempt such a thing.  I haven't the time, the space, the spare speakers, or the...
