Ani Difranco
If you're interested in exploring the family tree, Ani's bassist and musical arranger, Todd Sickafoose, has released two jazz recordings that are phenomenal, IMO. Last year's "Blood Orange" is my favorite CD from the past year.

And, by the way, Wilson speakers are mass producedHuh?their customers seem to argue that the value is thereWhat does that have to do with price?

There simply is no way on earth that the cost of a pair of Watt Puppy 8's (might be 8A's before I finish this sentence) could possibly approach that of a loaded Accord. When did Wilson declare itself the "Honda of the audio world"? Wilson is a high...

Thanks, KeithR. I was curious as to the context of your comment, and this helps.

The 8s don't seem worth 30k to these ears.Out of curiosity, in your opinion, which $30K (+/-)speakers have you heard that are worth the retail price?
Purist Audio, Venustas or Aqueous
Boa2, thanks, I just read that other thread. I can only conclude that in my (very articulate) system, the Venustas probably sound just like the Aqueous does in your system.I wouldn't know, other than to say that I thought the Venustas were extende...
Anyone hear any of the Morrow amps yet?
Apparently, the manufacturer has, and really likes them.
Purist Audio, Venustas or Aqueous
Boa2, since you have both, I assume you made A-B comparisons. What are these "huge" differences? In this thread from last week, I posted my impressions concerning the differences between the two.
Purist Audio, Venustas or Aqueous
I don't think there would be any discernable any sonic difference between Venustas and AqueousThere is a huge difference between the two. I own both, and would suggest that Raytebeest would prefer the Aqueous IC's, as they are closer to the above-...
Are ICEpower amps really that good?
Thanks for the clarification, Muralman1. Sorry for my mis-read.
Are ICEpower amps really that good?
Hack writes: I listened to several ICE amps in a variety of set-ups, to my ears they didn't seem to have the current to handle transients well. Very linear, uninvolving sound to 'em.Muralman1 responds: Hack, you are describing the H2O. Are you sur...

Their were demonstrating Audio Aero's Prestige Monobloc Amplifiers - 40 wpc SET moster amps with 813 output tubes driven by 211's and 6SN7's for driver/input.These amps sounded gorgeous AND had big cojones. They truly got out of the way to let the...
WILSON AUDIO/ cost vs. value
Dgad,They used all Audio Research components. They used a Reference 3 preamp, and from looking at the Audio Research site, the amps appear to have been the Reference 210 monoblocks. Sorry, I didn't find out what the other component models were. Th...

My wife and I had a great time at the show. Biggest surprise was that after listening to Wilson speakers 5+ times previously--and not liking them--we were felled by the Watt Puppy 8's. The most expansive, lifelike sound I've heard yet from Wilson....
WILSON AUDIO/ cost vs. value
"only $28k, is that all they are?" I love it...She was already sold on the $48K Acapella's, so I guess the WP8's seemed downright cheap.
