#3- Corner wedges, foam? something cheap just to cut off the 90 degree angles, is there something Paintable out there?Hey Undertow, Foam exercise rollers work great in the corners. You can get them in varying densities, you can easily paint them,...
Speakers for metal, hard rock ... also SS amp
Mcintosh Amps with horns or most speakers recommended for rock will definatley render the better results over most other amps without a lot of screwing around..I second that recommendation, for everything from Bjork to Pantera.

Boa2, so when are you going to put one together? All those Plasmatics, Ah Ha and Duran Duran LPs must really be pileing up.You know, Viridian, we first put together a nice system almost three years ago, of which two years was spent weaning my wife...
1st, most memorable recording...
Years ago, I was at a friend's house for a party, and I heard a live version of "Dead Man's Party", by Oingo Boingo come trumpeting out of his speakers like the bulls at Pamplona. Until that moment, I hadn't much cared for Oingo Boingo. But in an ...
Point of diminishing returns
Most of the threads here are a prime example of this theory at work, in that the effort spent to read post #70 will require the same energy that it took to get 90% of the answer in post #4. And yet, post #70 may provide you with only 2% of additio...

Joe, you crack me up. This list should help standardize any future review of e-stat characteristics.
Not wasting my time on new Digital
I hear ya, Rapogee. Makes a lot of sense. Without naming names, I've heard several $8K+ players that frankly sucked, IMO. I hope you find one that works well for you. I think it's out there. It's just a matter of finding it.Best of luck!

I can see it now. The new XYZ amplifier review in Stereophile:"It was as if...no, not as if...VERY...no, not very. Remember, no adjectives...it was good...no, not good. Hmmm....well, just listen to it yourself, and see what you think. But remember...
Watt Puppy 8 vs. Zu Definition
The Definitions have better low end I bet than displayed at the show as the couch was in a room node. I asked because 4 10"ers on the back seem like overkill if anything and was told that. i hope to hear a pair soon at 213Cobra's house to hear a r...

How's a feller s'posed to talk audio if'n he ain't got no more fluffy words in his toolkit? Soon enough, we'll end up with the Al Swearingen version of the audio review, where "Best" is the most useless f%*$& audio adjectival, you f%&$ c$*...
who surprised and who disappointed
Thanks a lot, Marty. I'll have to see when they're coming our way.
who surprised and who disappointed
I forgot to mention the band that surprised me the most, mainly because I'd never heard their music before seeing them perform: The Waterboys. They opened up for U2 on the "Unforgettable Fire" tour. They still had Karl Wallinger (who later started...
