audio horizons Did you do some discussion board and review reading before getting it? I was looking at the AH gear too and after about 10 mins of googling/searching I struck it off the list because of the word "analytical" showing up way too much.
Which 12AX7 tubes for EAR 834P phono stage? If you want to put more money in to it (that you probably won't ever recover) and I think you would be far better of getting the coupling caps replaced and maybe a couple of other parts swapped out. Mitch the service tech for EAR USA has been doin...
Phono preamp How about an Audiomat from France? Might want to look in to that and demo it if you can. Not sure what your budget is.Bryan
Good Phono Stage for Benz Micro Ace. I would considering bumping your budget up by $500 and get something that won't leave you second guessing and lusting after another upgrade before long. I was in your price range too, but after reading a lot of discussion board threads it sure see...
Changed from AP Virgo III's to Wilson Sophia II's How about an LSA Integrated amp? Top flight amp that does have fantastic open imaging.
Experiences on Tom Evans phono stage ? I did my research on phono amps. And I noticed lackluster feedback on audio discussion boards for TE phono amps. Mostly on UK based boards, which is where I go for vinyl related topic research.
Experiences on Tom Evans phono stage ? I thought the consensus was most of his preamps are average or mediocre sounding, and WAY overpriced. I have seen that posted so often I would never consider his phono amps. In that price range, there are many options. Too many. I'd consider getti...
wyred4sound amps I found a W4S ST500 to be too bright and cool in my system. I had it for over 6 months. With a tubed pre and vinyl only front end and ET LFT 8Bs. Just be careful with system synergy. In the right system, it just might work really well.
settings for Rega Exact II / Simaudio Moon LP3 ? C loading depends on what the cartridge spec calls for and then you have to account up the C in your arm cable, and then add in whatever extra you can on the phono stage to make it equal to what the cartridge spec is. Since you probably don't know...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Jsadurni, thanks for the feedback on the Reca. I managed to get a near new one for $250 and it should be here in a week. You sure seem to like it, which I"m very glad to hear. I was going to get a higher end MC and the Reca would be a spare or a c...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? I'm curious how many people have made the leap to MM/MI because of this thread and found great success. And if you did, what MM's did you find it with? And the tt, arm and phono amp that was used? Also curious if anyone has experience with the Reso...
Tonearm Upgrade for Spacedeck Audio Origami PU7.
Best Rega Option The best guy in the business for arm mods Rega or otherwise is Johnnie at Audio Origami. He's very popular on all of the UK audio boards and a lot of people go nuts over his rega mods when they get the arm back. I have his PU7 arm and it is a grea...
Convert Spacedeck from 240v/50htz to 110v/60htz You don't have to ship the table anywhere. All you need is a new 120V motor and a new pulley because of the frequency difference. You will likely pay more for it from Audiophile Systems though, compared to getting one from a dealer in the UK. They...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Raul, what is the benefit of loading a MM at 100K? What is improved or changed? I know changing the impedance load of a MC can change the tilt of (high) frequency response. I know it's in this thread somewhere, but it's hard to fine. Thanks,Bryan |
