Why so many problems with martin logan?
I currently own 6 ML speakers (Odyssey / Cinema / Scenarios / Descent) and have bought and sold a pair of Aerius i's; I've never had anything go wrong whatever. A friend of mine has two pairs (CLS and Aerius) and again, no issues whatever.Judging ...
Classe owners...Please help with speaker selection
I'm using bigger units - CA200 and SSP-75 - with Martin Logan Odyssey / Descent.
Martin Logan Aeons and Depth
Realize that you're going to spend a couple of weeks fiddling around with locations once you get them. MLs are obnoxiously sensitive to placement, in my opinion. Don't forget that at least the mains really, really, really prefer to be quite a ways...
Classe CA-200/201 or Aragon 8008ST/BB
The CA 200 is pretty neutral - it doesn't run bright or dark with either my old ProAc Tablette 50's (which are bright) or with my current Martin Logan Odysseys (which are slightly bright due to my room).I could not hear ANY difference between my C...
Speaker recommendation - 3K budget
I think I'd avoid the ML's for this application. Although they do meet your requirements, I doubt they'll be very good in your room: it's too small, especially if you have to put office furniture in it. MLs just about have to be 3-4 feet from the ...
Help Soon - Martin Logan surrounds
I have ML Scenarios for my surrounds, and of cousre they work well with the Odyssey/Cinema fronts. However, I disagree with the claim that ONLY MLs work well - my previous surrounds were Triad Silvers. They are dipole cone speakers that are design...
Sub For Martin Logan Aeon's
I forgot to add that the HGS-10 blended well with the Aerius i's, but the Descent just blows the HGS-10 into the weeds in terms of authority, depth and even tightness. Oddly, they seem to have blended about as well - not what you'd expect.Remember...
Sub For Martin Logan Aeon's
My LCR are Odyssy/Cinema, I previously had Aerius i's/Cinema. The original sub was an HGS-10, which is pretty good but nowhere near the ability of the Descent. With the Odysseys, the Descent makes a big difference - right where bass guitars are us...
Ugliest speaker ever?
Those Acapellas are a fashion statement alright... I think they and the AvantGardes are both extreme examples of "like or hate it" as I know folks on both camps. (And this is a contest of looks, not sonics, right?)
anyone familiar with Rotel phono stage?
I had one of the standalone phono stages - I RBX-970?. I used it with MM cartridges and it had what I would characterize as appropriate gain - I think that means about 20dB but I'm not sure. I don't think that it is good enough to really match ton...
pre/pro with 2nd zone
Most Zone-2's are a pain to use. However, my completely anti-technical wife mastered our Ref20 via a better remote control with macros. You probably could have addressed the problem with a $150 remote, I'm guessing less than you lost in the Ref30 ...
Any pinnacle-quality SS unbalanced gear out there?
I'm not positive about all of them, but I am pretty sure that at least the Rowland has both balanced and unbalanced inputs. I am positive that the Classe units have both inputs on all of their power amps, from atleast the CA 200 to the Omegas.
Surround speaker sugg. for Martin Logan fronts?
Well, I've got Scenarios "just stuck back there" and they do OK considering the crappy positioning. They're fine for movies, not so great for surround music, due to the setup. I have (slightly used) Scenarios because they cost me significantly les...
ADDING TUBES TO HOME THEATER????
I went with tubes for the LR and I'm pretty happy with the results. The center and surrounds are solid state (and also VASTLY less expensive), although I may consider upgrading the center channel amplifier. If you get into 5-ch music, you may decid...
Martin Logan Theater vs Cinema???
Yada, could you be a bit more specific about the differences?
