Adapter question
Cardas makes the best aftermarket ones as far as I know. They should be readily available on PartsConnexion.
What are the best GaN Amplifiers available today?
Thank you for all of the responses so far.  @verdantaudio I agree there is no objective best amp. I’m asking about peoples’ preferences and the reasons they landed there. I am not hoping to get a unified alignment on this thread, but get broad kn...
Which do u think is a better power amp? Cary Cad120s vs vtl st-150?
Of the two I’d go with VTL. As a previous Cary owner, I’d say in my experience their tube amps are euphonic and tonally rich, but very hard to get endgame detail with. VTL will be more dynamic and resolving while still retain a good amount of musi...
Pls help me decide Pass Labs X250.8 or Luxman M900u
Take this with a grain of salt as I am a dealer for T+A Elektroakustik, but look into the T+A A 3000 HV amplifier. It has the richness of a Luxman or Pass but will control speakers much better than either of them at the frequency extremes. It is s...
Turntables: 2 Tonearms. What do you Have or Know About?
Clearaudio’s Innovation line allows for two arms, regardless of whether it’s the Compact, Innovation Wood, or Master.    I own one with a frosted white platter and a Tri-Planar tonearm and have been quite happy.
How tall do you like your images?
Also agree with Mike Lavigne on height being system dependent. Especially with tracks / albums with a deeper soundstage alike Muddy Waters Folk Singer, I appreciate that the stage is not tall because it accurately portrays a stage that is deep bey...
Amps for Joseph Audio Pulsar 2 Graphene's?
I suppose my choice of words could have been better there. Lush and full are probably more accurate. Thanks for pointing that out.
Best 4.4mm to 3.5mm adapter?
I find that adapters, regardless of quality materials, always degrade sound quality. Are your headphone cables detachable? If so, consider getting different cables with 3.5 male tips. Unfortunately Furutech doesn't make the adapter you're looking...
Modwright PH 9.0X Tube Rolling Question
@scm I'm glad the tube arrived safely for you and that you are enjoying it. Remember, it was my last one, and a spare, so I wouldn't be surprised if it sounds even better after 100 hours. The Philips 5R4GYS is a magical tube in any Modwright rec...
How tall do you like your images?
I prefer my vocals to be at about 6-7ft in height such that they are standing at a lifelike height or on a small stage similar to noromance’s post just previous to mine. That was my biggest gripe when I owned Wilson Yvette -- while the speakers so...
Add External DAC or Upgrade to a New Streamer / DAC?
I’m unfortunately not a fan of Hifi Rose units. They look sexy, but the comprehensiveness of their builds internally are lackluster, and it’s easy to see what you’re not getting (because the innards are basically empty). This means no high quality...
Lumin U2 vs Aurender N200
@john1629 The Aurender A200 is a great value unit in its price range, and you will get what you pay for - a decent streamer and DAC combined. That said, if you can swing for separates, you will get much greater sonic performance in the N200 as a s...
AI and the future of music
I started a thread on Lalal.ai a while back but it didn't get any traction. That said, it's an excellent example of what can be done with music via AI. It allows you to split vocals from the rest of a track, or turn any vocal track into an instrum...
PS audio m1200
@zpatenaude37 The Bel Canto Ref 1000m also use ICEpower modules, though they use the older 1000ASP boards. I would go for the PS Audio M1200 for the tube input stage and power supply mods. The Ref 1000m is basically just the ICEpower board hooked ...
PS audio m1200
I would make sure you could demo the M1200s with a return policy. I generally have a lot of great things to say about them, but they are founded on ICEpower 1200AS modules. While they are fantastic for much low impedance performance, they are rate...
