Lets fight Part2
Ok. From now on it's rules by Lev335. This is the one and only time I will address a post like this. It is a waste of time, boring and anything but about music. Do you crave attention or what? You have to know you are going to get negative respons...
Most emotionally involving cables?
I don't believe that cables are emotionally involving. Matched with the right system, they get out of the way and allow the better qualities of the components to come through. To fine tune a system? Possibly. To make any statement of their own. Ne...
One Song That Still Causes...
Mr.Tambourine Man. Dylan. "To dance beneath the diamond sky...." Never fails.
Can any Audioquest Midnight be biwired?
I had the Midnight+, biwired. They were factory terminated for the crossover frequency in my speakers. They were seperated differently. Depending on your speakers, they terminated with more wires going to the lows or highs. I emailed Audioquest at...
Unusual Music Recommendation
Dan Bern. Just incredible! By far, my favorite artist these days. Everything is there. Great songwriting, humor, sensitivity.... Considered an underground artist. His last album was produced by his Friend, Ani Difranco. If you give a listen, you w...
I opened both MIT and Transparent netwks
That's quite a hobby you got there.
Logans and Heavy Metal?
I think you will be disappointed, long term, with the MLs if you plan to listen to heavy metal through them. I would suggest that you do extensive listening, if you are seriousely considering them. Of course, the same is true with any speakers.
Applause: Bummer
David99. Sorry. I guess I missed the distinction you made, but I wanted to ask. Don't you find that rock recordings are generally poor, compressed and terribly mixed? I love rock and find rock recordings frustrating. I mostly listen to them in my ...
Applause: Bummer
Applause sounds terrible on my system also, harsh and noisy. I am glad you wrote this post. But I am surprised by your comments about live recordings, David99. Many of my favorite cds are live. I love hearing the ambience of the room or hall. Imag...
if i could trade places......
David Byrne during the "Stop Making Sense" tour. I could never get away with wearing that suit.
Soliloquy 5.3 vs. ProAc 1.5
Acssavings, It is surprising to me that you describe the Shearwaters that way, flat and lacking dynamics. I truely think they are just the opposite. Who knows? Personal taste? Setup? Bad day? I think there are so many variables, and that is why it...
Is there no end?
I really don't have enough info to give an informed opinion. I will say that from your post, I would suggest you live with what you have for awhile and give them a chance. If they are better in almost every way, I think you might have to sacrifice...
Help on integrated amp?
Of those you mention, the Classe would be the best choice, by far, for sound quality and system matching. I like the Bryston B60 very much, I owned one, but it is very revealing and I think a terrible match with the Theils. Also, at sixty watts, I...
Soliloquy 5.3 vs. ProAc 1.5
If rock makes up a large part of your listening, I wouldn't suggest either of these speakers. For acoustic and light jazz, yes. I suggest you look into the Meadowlark Shearwater Hot Rods. They are sweet sounding, detailed and great with dynamic mu...

Nice midrange. Nice imaging. Could do better.
