need help with choosing right cables
Trip. Just a thought. The discs you mentioned, that I know, are not great recordings to begin with. I suspect you may be looking for too much out of them. I don't think any cd player, within your budget, is going to make enough difference to make ...
Amp for Aerial speakers?
Classe with Aerial is a great match. They do need a lot of power though. The setup I heard, at the dealer, when I bought mine was with a CA301 and a VTL preamp. Very nice!
Experience with Aerial models 6 or 7b
No money. I owned the 6s for about a year. They are very nice. They do need power to open up. They could sound lifeless without it. I agree with Emster, 250wpc. I found this to be frustrating and limiting when choosing or changing amps. I now own ...
what is a good match?
I guess I should have also made a recommendation. I have heard the Classe CA301 sound nice with the N803s. I would listen to it with a tube preamp, like Conrad Johnson, Rogue, VTL or BAT.
what is a good match?
Davjms. No knock on the 803s, but if you are as you say "new to the audiophile world", I hope that you have listened to a number of speakers, with different setups. Gather as much info as you can, and speak to people other than dealers. Read the f...
Best CD source?
BMG averages about $8, including shipping and handling. Ok selection. Must be a member and don't let them send those silly cards that must be returned.

Is it me? I get the feeling we're in "The Twilight Zone".
Is 500 hours of break in really nec.?
Bmpnyc, Is that what happens every few months that forces me to change something in my system? Cable "burnout".
Classe CP-35 pre and Classe in general
Vermonter, I used to shop there also. Select the merchandise on a computer and wait for it to come up on a conveyor belt. No salesman "interface". Hey, there's an idea!

Tubegroover, I'm laughing here, but that guy is laughing all the way to the bank. My mother stays up late at night and buys that stuff.

I like the spray on hair in an aerosol can and the pasta machine that looks like a "Play Doe" toy I had as a kid.
Classe CP-35 pre and Classe in general
Ehart. I suggest you call Classe and speak with Robert Adam. He is very generous with time and information. He has been quite helpful with me. I owned two CA151s and a CP50. The CP50 is a nice preamp and could be found used for around $1200. If in...
How to match amp with pre-amp
Classe matches very well with Conrad Johnson preamps, if you are considering tubes. The Classe CP50 is a nice full featured linestage, but does have a slight hum from the power supply. The 47.5 power supply is quiet, but in my opinion, it is a ste...
New Maggie Owner; What amp????
Just wanted to add, I think 150 WPC would allow the 1.6qrsto open up.
New Maggie Owner; What amp????
I think you should listen to the Classe integrateds. If you could stretch your budget, you should check out a used Plinius 8150 integrated. I have heard Classe with the Maggies, and it is a nice match. In any case, make sure you have enough curren...
