Buying a remastered recording from radio: LP or CD?
All things being equal in your equipment, the sound quality should be equal. IMHO  I'm sure there are Golden Ears that lean towards vinyl, but taking into accout cost, convenience and longevity,  I would go with CD.  For what it's worth.  Cheers.
Advice and recommendations needed for a turntable rig...
@grk   Life's too short.  Have a nice day.
Giving Advice without recommending your own equipment
My personal favourite is when the OP asks for input from members who have actually owned a specific piece of equipment.  Inevitably, someone will chime in with "well I've never heard that .......... but I can highly recommend XYZ"  Apparently many...
Are your record surfaces as silent as CDs?
In a word, no.  I have a few LPs that are dead silent but it is the exception.  You can see my setup.  It all depends on the pressing and amount of play.  CDs have it on this question. IMHO.
New Audiogon URL restrictions are too much
Having the same issue trying to post a link to Genie Clips.  Ended up suggesting the OP simply Google the product.  Hope it's a temporary issue.
Handling Heavy Amps
@jfrmusic   Have you considered buying one of the new Class D amps?  People on this site claim they are excellent and you sound like the perfect candidate for the light weight that comes with Class D.
Acoustics
@mkdm11   If you are considering the resilient channel, have you looked at incorporating the Genie Clip?  You can google it by name.  Cheers,

An article worth reading: https://digistar.cl/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=557 I like this room size calculator: https://www.acoustic.ua/forms/rr.en.html And an excellent video on room construction: https://www.google.com/search?q=absolute+sound+edi...
Is it even possible to get a factory authorized dealer to give a discount?
@cleeds  Well, that's a fu#ked-up policy.  Move north where we are free 😆 To @erik_squires point, I owned a retail business for many years and offered in-store credit in lieu of cash discount.  On a $40,000 item I would offer a $4000 in-store cre...
Is it even possible to get a factory authorized dealer to give a discount?
The margin for dealers is quite generous and there is always room to negotiate a reasonable discount.   I for one would never buy anything without a minimum 20% off MSRP.  Greater if the box has been opened or the item has been used for any demo i...
Records and CDs
@rvpiano   Maybe it's just me, or it's my age, but I've always preferred to own physical media.  I don't stream at all.  I like to feel the CD/LP in my hands.  I like to read the liner notes and enjoy the artwork.  Sound aside, LPs are a leg up on...
Crackle and hiss on some albums
@fuzztone   I also own an ultrasonic LP cleaner.  A necessity if you are interested in vinyl IMHO.  My personal rule is to clean the LP with a bit of Kodak Photo Flow in the water.  This causes the water to sheet off and dry without deposits.  Onc...
Crackle and hiss on some albums
@fuzztone   I believe the research shows that the stylus does not in fact raise the temp of the vinyl more than a very small amount.  There is no melting of the LOP and no "welding" going on.  Cheers. That plastic melts into a fluid under the t...
Best power cord for Audioquest Niagara 1200
The specs on the Niagara 1200 show max power input is 15 Amps.  This can be handled by regular 14 AWG wiring.  Putting a firehose sized cable between the outlet and the N-1200 will not provide any additional current to the device.  It simply doesn...
