Pass Labs X350 versus Plinius SA250IV
I vote for the Pass simply becauce of the company and what they do for their customers.
Pass X-series & Talon users, cable help please
The Cardas are great wires for the Ravens. I have a reviewer friend who just reviewed the Ravens with those wires and power cords, he also likes the Analysis Plus Oval 9s (I think they are not the top of the line cables by AP).Hope this helps and ...
Vandersteen 3A,, Revel F30, or Magnepan 3.6
I agree that the Maggies need juice. I heard the F-50s and thought that the mid range was poor sounding, but it was probably do to the system and set up, although I still think they should have sounded better. I would think that the Vandy 3As woul...
Need suggestions for a new amp 200Wpc
The Sim Audio W-5 is a very nice amp for the used prices as is the Pass X-250. The Sim is a very fast amp with a nice balanced sound, the Pass has a slightly different sound maybe a little more romantic. If you can find a good deal on an Edge amp ...
Rate these on order of importance:
The room is the biggest influence on your sound period. Do not be folled tinto thinking that the room isn't. It can make up 70-80% of yor sound. Just try one of the room correction devices and you will hear the differences. After the room the soun...
Any WARM, MUSICAL speakers out there?
Dear Bigpowerballs, bigkidz here,I have listened to over thirty speakers in the past three months. First of all nothing sounds like the Cremona mid range and I mean nothing. I fell in love with them after the first note, but I also listen rock so ...
Audio Physic Virgo II vs Tempo III
I did hear some differences between the Virgo III & II but for the used prices of the IIs, just buy them. They only really do certain types of music well but what they do is simply great.Happy Listening.
Anyone heard Pass X2.5 preamp?
Stehno,Yes I did receive the BFS with Marty's reviews. Fuuny but he does not like the LC-2 onthe Pass Labs X-250 which I own? I guess I will have to try another cord to see if I hear a difference. The 10-20% is very system dependent and probably n...
Anyone heard Pass X2.5 preamp?
10-20 % difference in the X2.5 compared to the X-1. There already was a thread on this a few weeks back. It also depends on the rest of your system. The Pass is very natural and neutral sounding so you will not get a tube mid range sound. They are...
Best CD: Cary 308, Musical Fidelity A3, Arcam CD92
Sorry but there is no best of anything just voiced differently. You need to describe the sound you are looking for. Every componenet has their strengths and weaknesses, what is right for you may not be right for someone else. If you can describe t...
Favourite Guitar CDs
Best guitarist in the world ever was Danny Gatton, Buy the Crusin' Deuces CD and sit back and enjoy. If yoy are a guitar player, hang it up and cry. Danny is kind of a country picker but not a guy who plays country music. It is like Eddie Van meet...
Theil's 2.4 - who out there has heard them?
They are very open sounding and detailed but not warm sounding like the AP Virgos for example. Better bass than the Virgos. In long terem listening or at loud volumes they may come around to sounding fatiguing IMHO.Happy Listening.
VTL ST-150 vs ARC VT100 MK2
I just read the thread and I would think IMHO that the ML speakers need the SS power and control. The guy is now going to listen to horn speakers which will work better with tube amps so there may be a mtaching issue. Both of the tube amps will so...
Electrocompaniet EMC 1
From my experience the EMC-1 is a very detailed CDP, not bright or forward but detailed. The GamunT is warmer sounding but less detailed, I have not heard the Krell.Happy Listening.
Who is using Dali Speakers?
Jose,I probably heard them at the same dealer. The speakers had no spikes and placement was out into the room but just eyed into place. The 5s are a much better speaker than the 4s but at a higher cost. Today I heard speakers from Talon, the Raven ...
