Top 10 Snafus to avoid when building a good rig 1) Forgetting to treating your room acoustically so you know how your rig sounds.2) Spending too much on cables so you can't buy a decent amp, preamp or source.
6C33C-B tubes I used to have a lot of trouble with the tubes in my VK-75se. Since cleaning the pins and sockets with Deoxit and letting the amp warm up an hour before using it, I haven't had any problems.
Has price of used 802N's shot up? I sold a pair of 802N a few years back. I got so many offers I wish I had listed them for more....The speakers have a very nice look and are well made.
Vendor war stories . . . good ones that is . . . I had the same experience with EgglestonWorks here in Memphis. A factory tour from Jim Thompson and time in their listening room with their full line of speakers. I bought a pair of their Rosa speakers. They are perfect for my small listening room.

How quiet is your room? I run the AC in the summer to keep the room cool due to using tubes. It can raise the ambient noise to 50db.If I move, I'll make sure the new room has better ambient noise control and better venting to handle the heat from the tubes.
When do you choose vinyl over digital? I like LPs because they play for 20 min, then you get to select a new one.. If I want to listen for a loner time, I play CDs. I buy mostly used, but LPs are starting to get expensive.
Anyone else receive low offers right away ? If someone is selling a second hand, 10-year-old amp that they used for 5-years for 50% off current list price, and I offer them 70% off current list price is that a low-ball offer? I'm guessing they paid 50% list off when they bought it used. The...
Analog vs Digital Confusion Analog is better. You get a better variety of music during a listening session. The short play time of LPs forces you to change the record every 20 minutes or so. CD play time is too long.
