Modifying PS Audio DirectStream DAC
What amazed me was they designed the boards to accept the upgraded transformers.  The original ones were about $20.00 and the upgraded ones were $31.00 + shipping.   It was very professional for PS Audio to give the information for the upgrade. ...
Modifying PS Audio DirectStream DAC
The most expense part was the Farad Super 3. Otherwise it was very cheap for an upgrade.
Selling off Tubes for Solid State, A Cooler Love Story?
Same problem. I went with Spectral to keep my listening room cool. Sold all my BAT tube gear. Now I don’t have to open the windows in the winter or crank the air in the summer. Goodwin’s High End is a good start for finding used gear. They sell on...
Bridge II card PS audio.
Unfortunately I haven't streamed with a device under $700USD, so I can't comment on that compared to the Directstream.  However, I did give you information on the DAC after having used it for several years with Bridge. I was hoping you would find ...
Bridge II card PS audio.
The PS Audio website says to avoid the Bridge because it is noisy and use IS2 for input.   I use the Bridge for ethernet input with Tidal.  MQA changed their format so the MQA conversion on the Bridge no longer works with Mcontrol.  You have get ...

Budget High Current Power Cords
Hi @hickamore, I've tried Pangea against stock cords and Transparent Power Link cords in an all  BAT system (VK75SE monos) and an all Spectral system (400's).  Pangea won in both cases.  I was so pleased with the Pangea cords that I sold the Trans...

I am no longer getting MQA?
My PS Audio DirectStream DAC is the same way. It has the Bridge II card with an ethernet connection.  It used to play MQA with Tidal, but it doesn't anymore.   I called PS Audio. They didn't know why it changed.  They said I'm getting the same qua...

Help selecting a power cord.
@pauly Thank you for your comments.  I guess I should have sent my old cords to you to try in your system.
Help selecting a power cord.
@pauly I'm happy with Pangea. The high end cords didn't sound any better (not sure of the brand).  I sold them for shipping cost to get them out of the house quickly.
Need opinions on ceiling reflections
Nice system and room setup.I used 3 GIK panels on the ceiling.  They were purchased some time ago.  See them here.  The two outer panels are 100% absorption for 1st reflection points. The center panel has absorption/diffusion.  They are suspended ...
