An Artist's Pinnacle
Electric Light Orchestra: Face the Music This thread reminds me of something I’ve been pondering about musical groups/artists. They appear and in their first several albums develop their talent, and then at some point (if they are lucky/talented)...
Adding a “safe haven” forum for discussion of tweaks?
yuviarora You can do that, for now....but this anti-science behavior will not be tolerated for long :)    We should refer to anyone who uses the word snake oil as Faucci ;-)
Where the heck are all these manufacturers coming from!
On the other hand, LS3/5As which you probably remember from over 40 years ago are still being sold today by like 5 companies from over $3K to knockoffs for less.
Adding a “safe haven” forum for discussion of tweaks?
Another approach is that e.g. every post in a certain forum/subforum must have the word: HEARD or NOT HEARD at the top of every reply to indicate whether the person was speaking from experience or not. This way people could easily ignore the rep...

Aren’t the two main transducers, speakers and cartridge, the most important?
Only speakers can change the radiation pattern of sound. For those of us that enjoy something other than usual box speakers e.g. open baffle, omni, dipole, bipole, wide dispersion, this can only be created by the right speaker.
Who will soon be going to a live concert?
Saw Justin Hayward (Moody Blues) few weeks ago,  Great show.Saw local symphony orchestra few weeks ago.  Good show.

$2000.00 to spend on new speakers.
LSA small bookshelf speaker.  Call and ask, Wally might have a sale price under $2k.  Huge soundstage, a touch on warm side, tons of detail, and ask him but I believe you can return them if you don’t like them.
LSA 20 Statement Speakers
I have the small LSA bookshelf.  They are wide dispersion, have a great soundstage with huge sweet spot.  Very special.
As you have moved on, are there any items you remember fondly...or most fondly?
Wish I hadn’t sold the LS3/5A decades ago.  Well or the Dahlquest dq10s that replaced them.
WHAT SONG TOUCHES YOUR HEART THE MOST?
Sounds of SilenceAmazing GraceEpitaph (King Crimson)
What is the most important component to consider while building a new system?
Speakers are the only component that can determine the radiation pattern of how sound is distributed in your room. For those of us who like dipoles e.g. maggies, omnis e.g. ohm/space pods, open baffle e.g. Spatial audio, wide dispersion e.g. LSA b...
