Who can service Bedini amps?
Excellent!
Squeeze Concert including one odd tidbit
Great, great story Marty. I loved Squeeze in their heyday (still have all their LP's, but just sold the CD's), and even saw them live in England in December of '82. Difford & Tillbrook were probably the best songwriters of their generation, I ...
What vintage speaker might you use today
I have no doubt that I will be the first of many to name the obvious first choice, the original Quad ESL.
Cleaning records. How often really?
Oh, wait a minute Bill. The Last Preservative is not designed or intended to remove the mold release agent (allegedly, if you prefer) found on new LP's. Nitty Gritty at one time offered a product named First for that purpose, but it's no longer av...

Stop scrubbing Bill! According to Last, the preservative bonds to the vinyl of the LP at the molecular level. Scrubbing won't reverse that permanent bond.
$510.00 for an Aluminum cover for the ARC Ref. 10?
I was in the LAOCAS in the 90's, and attended all the shows in California. I also accompanied Brooks to CES every January for years, but dropped out of Hi-Fi for awhile, visiting Brooks only occasionally. He became a customer of mine, buying a bun...
Audio Research Reference 5 SE Preamps For Sale?
Statman, I too first encountered Brooks at GNP, in 1984. He wasn't even part owner of the shop, but did all their turntable set-ups (and was involved in the design of the GNP speakers). GNP was the other retailer (besides Randy at Optimal Enchantm...
Audio Research Reference 5 SE Preamps For Sale?
Taters, the "Worst Dealers" thread was about a month ago, it seems to me. I'll try and find it.
Who can service Bedini amps?
I had Tom at Brooks Berdan Ltd. work on my 25/25. But it was just replacing the binding posts with Cardas', and adding a simple r/c filer x/o on the input jacks---there was nothing wrong with the amp. Do you have a schematic of the circuit? Tom is...
Rock with strings
Not Rock music (that didn't happen until he engaged Toto to play on his recordings, much to the detriment of his music, imo), Randy Newman's first album features fantastic orchestration. It's production, by Lenny Waronker and Van Dyke Parks, is ex...
Proper Room Acoustics/Designs
Is Dennis' room dimensions recommendation in the 1.0 X 1.6 X 2.6 ratio?
Jeff Buckley
Jeff's version of "Hallelujah" is fantastic, as is any version (live or studio) by the song's writer, Leonard Cohen.
Cleaning records. How often really?
Bill, it is my understanding that all records are pressed with a thin coating of a mold release agent applied to the stamper. If the stamper is not so treated, the LP's resist detaching from it after the cooling phase of pressing. That agent is no...
What's a contender to an Audio Reference 5 SE?
Though not as trendy or talked about and owned here as those already mentioned, there is always the EAR-Yoshino 912 (the only pre Art Dudley likes in some ways more than his Shindo), or it's little brother the 868.
Any Herron VTPH-2 Phono Stage Owners out there?
Speaking of the Zesto phono stage (and the Decca cartridge as I did above), at the last Irvine T.H.E. Show I asked George about the 47K/15K resistance switch incorporated in the amp, thinking the choice of 15K could be for only one reason---the De...
