What has your audiophile experience taught you about yourself?
I shoulda made making money a higher priority than I did. Too late now!
Music you HATE the most but once you LOVED it
My taste changed radically in 1969 (my teen-combo opened for The New Buffalo---the remnants of Buffalo Springfield. Watching and listening to Dewey Martin play my drumset, with Bobby's brother Randy Fuller on bass, I had an epiphany. Just like "TH...
Would you go all 1 brand for electronics?
I could be happy with an all-Herron, Atma-Sphere, or Jadis system of electronics. Maybe Sanders too.
When will we ever hear turntables demoed fairly?
It used to drive me crazy when some (usually British) reviewers would, in a review of a new table, use a different arm and/or cartridge on that table and a reference table, then purport to describe the differences in sound between the two. Duh! A ...
Single ended vs xlr balanced
And don’t forget Ralph Karten’s (Atma-Sphere) argument that balanced cables minimize the sonic artifacts of single-ended cables.

Yeah autospec, it's the original version of the 25/25, not the Meg whatever version. I used it for years with a pair of old Quads, as did many others. That pairing is legendary.
Bands who'se names describe thier sound.
Amen. Not only three lead singers and three songwriters, but drummer Levon Helm also played harmonica, guitar, and mandolin, pianist Richard Manuel played drums (very musically and interestingly), bassist Rick Danko played tuba, and organist Garth...
Speakers with warm treble and good bass
Aniwolfe’s ET LFT-8b suggestion is a good one. The speaker has a 3-position tweeter switch (x/o frequency 10kHz!), the low setting providing the soft highs you desire. Some speakers sound the opposite of soft not because of frequency response and ...

I did not want to be the one say it boxer (I already bore everyone enough with my Band ravings ;-), but you got it. Their name came from the residents of Woodstock, who came to think of Bob Dylan’s band as their own local Band (Woodstock is a smal...

Well I'll be! It's surprising to hear of a ss designer/builder getting into tubes after so long as a ss only company. I still have a 25/25, a nice little Class A amplifier.
Looking for my first tube amplifier, help appreciated.
Music Reference RM-200, which goes for about $2000 used, the improved Mk.2 version for about $500 more (one sold just yesterday on Audiogon for $2400). One small signal tube and two KT88/120 output tubes per channel for 100 watts. That's right, 10...

I briefly played with a guy who facetiously (I think) proposed the Band name Cool Guys With Big D*cks. He’s dead now (drank himself to death in his late 30’s), so feel free to use it, anyone ;-).
Tune of the Day
There's a video on You Tube picturing Brian Wilson and the other Beach Boys around the time the song "God Only Knows" was recorded. What makes this clip worth searching for is that what you hear is the isolated piano and melody vocal, sans the orc...

Too late, the RM-200 sold in one day.

Mariano, Bedini makes solid state amps only, so you'll have to look elsewhere for a "KT88 vintage" (KT88 is a tube). I don't know what you mean by "vintage", but there are plenty of nice new amps that will run KT88's, including the Music Reference...
