Totem Mani-2 and Adcom 555/2
I run my Manis using a pair of B&K M200 Sonatas. I've owned many B&K amps and the M200's are by far the best IMHO. I've also used many other amps with the Mani's (CJ, Parasound, Bedini, Ayre) and the M200's are by favorite with them. The M...
Best jazz covers of rock songs
Stanley Jordan - "Eleanor Rigby" and "Angel" (Hendrix) from his Magic Touch LPGeorge Benson - as mentioned above . . .Sarah K - "Whiter Shade of Pale" from her What Matters CD (though some may argue this isn't pure jazz)
Can a Preamp Run a Trends Audio 10.1 Int. Amp?
I run mine as a power amp (connected to a preamp with remote volume, component switching). There is a jumper inside the TA10.1 that you can change to bypass the volume control. The manual tells you how to do this. If you don't want to bother, just...
Ayre amps - cool running?
I had an Ayre V3 which ran hotter than any amp I've had - even at idle. I even called Ayre to ask if this was normal - their reply was "hot is good".

Equipment: To Hide or not to Hide
I like to look at it. It's also easier to optimize, and revise your setup if it's in the room.

Decent low-cost used phono amp
Jolida JD9A can be found new with warranty for $369. Very flexible tube stage that handle any cartridge you like.I also like the Lehmann Black Cube SE. They show up used here for ~400 maybe less.
Just an update
I remember those Rectilinears being the feature speaker in one of the local San Luis Obispo (Ca) hifi shops when I was in college in the early 70's. They had a big sound.Regarding your Sansui's, have you searched the archives either here or at Asy...
Two amplifiers feeding the same pair of speakers?
The simplest, and safest way is to use one power amp, and use your second source as an input to your main preamp. I'm not sure is this gets you what you're after though since you didn't provide details. You may want to describe your situation in d...
Pre-amp to Sub question
the theory Rel Acoustics (the maker of my Sub) postulates is that using the hi level inputs enables the sub to "see" the exact same signal as do the speakers. In my mind this makes sense.
Significance of V4-V11 on Thor mono blocks
I believe these are simply tube numbering that reference back to the schematic. You probably also have V1, V2, and V3, right? If you want to try a replacement tube different than you have currently, I would google "your tube substitution", replaci...
Pre-amp to Sub question
I use hi level inputs to my sub and prefer it. But Kal's suggestion is certainly good.
