Can you have too much speaker presence?
At the same volume I can confirm that in my case the taller towers offered a more solid sound than the smaller ones, with more weight to it. Both really have the same kind of imaging, depth and soundstage but the smaller towers presented it on lig...
Can you have too much speaker presence?
Presence, being there. I'm all in. Started with 43" tall towers in my house of stereo and moved up to 69" tall towers and I have more presence :)
Front or Back wall diffusers
Also, about 6 years ago, when drawing the original plans for the house of stereo, GIK told me that the front wall should be addressed last if at all. Just saying.
Front or Back wall diffusers
@avl1947  It's obviously room dependent. In mine diffusers/absorbers on back wall and diffusers only on rear of both sidewalls. Also diffusers at first reflection points on sidewalls and absorbers right next to them on second reflection points. P...
Lounge Audio
I'm with you all the way. I got treated poorly a couple years back by some audio company I will not mention again since I already wrote a discussion about it and I don't regret it one bit. The best thing to do when things get completely out of han...
How tall do you like your images?
The whole front wall.
Lumin U2 vs Aurender N200
No experience with Lumin or Aurender. However I will say that the post by lalitk mentioning the questionable thought process of OP wanting to upgrade his streamer but staying with the McIntosh dac is something worth paying attention to. FYI I use ...
AI and the future of music
AI is not even the future of anything, much less music imo. As I experience it in every day life, technology is actually taking over as is and the end result is much lower quality workmanship no matter what field. Nowadays everyone can feel like a...
The Snob Appeal Premium
In my case, you are preaching to the choir as I have always chosen performance over presentation.  Reason is simple, fancy looking designs always add to the price of any items regardless of their performance. And I am not talking just audio, it is...
The Symphony of the Audiophile: How Do You Define Enjoyment in Sound?
You forget about the equipment and get lost in the music.
Bookshelf Speakers Sitting On Dual Subs?
I have learned NOT to place dual subs in a stereo setup next to or under the mains EVER. It will result in overly booming bass specially in the rear of the room. Once placed on different walls at different positions, the extra booming was gone and...
Just got back in the vinyl community
Every record, on vinyl or not, has different levels of quality in recording / mixing / mastering. So to expect the same quality sound wise in any medium all the time is a fallacy.
Can an audio rack be that important?
Like Mike said, pretty close to the bottom of the food chain. At least for my concrete floor setup. It would go considerably up the food chain for my TTs if I had wood flooring on joists.
So I bought a WallyScope...
Trust your ears. That's all that matters in the end. Fancy testing equipment might get you there, or not.
Aurender Conductor app reliability and user experience
The bluos app with my Node 130 was always top notch for me until I got into Innuos sense. No experience with Aurender app, but I read enough complaints it drove me to the Zenith mk3 instead.
