My #@%$ Cat Destroyed My ARC REF 5SE. Soliciting Suggestions. Judging by the number of "cat lovers" here... I'd make "lemonade from lemons."First open the cat's "go fund me account" - "SAVE THE KITTY."Post the cat's YouTube video of the cat in a cage with a subtitle that the cat has one week to live, before ...
Harbeth 30.1 or 40.1 @ pdreher Agreed - My experiences with the 30.1’s and the 40.2’s are similar to yours - especially with a good SS amp that brings out the best in the Harbeths. I did consider the SHL5+ with the Rel subs - but, decided the 30.1’s or 40.2’s with the...
Any comments on AES/EBU XLR digital cable VS. BNC Cable Can any of you help me understand what digital input is generally considered the best - between my Bryston BDP-3.0 and any other DAC, or, specifically a Hegel H590 integrated amp with its DAC. I use AES/EBU XLR digital interface between my BDP-3...
Legacy Aeris vs Tekton Ulfberht vs Triton Reference Legacy Aeris - just very few speakers which can compare at any price and are my speakers (one of many). And since they’re semi-open baffle they have a superb soundstage. Hard to beat their ribbon tweeters, and the Wavelet DSP resolves all room is...
Harbeth 30.1 or 40.1 RE: the Harbeths... I’m trying them with a "lowly" ATI AT6012 SS amp right now, which is specifically designed for my Linkwitz Orions. And... as you might have guessed (if you know Harbeths)... the AT6012 is making them sound very much like the Yo...
Tube Amps and Friendly Speakers - Back Impedance To follow-up on my question - ARC responded to me to say that it makes no difference which set of speaker terminals I use (4, 8, or 16 ohm) on my ARC AR150SE tube amp - any will work with my Harbeths - just use the ones that sound the best. Harbe...
Tube Amps and Friendly Speakers - Back Impedance Thanks for responding to such an old thread...I've also contacted Harbeth and Audio Research for their guidance on this matter. Harbeth responded, but did not answer the impedence question - though they did answer the "tube vs SS" question. They...
Tube Amps and Friendly Speakers - Back Impedance Needed to resurrect this old topic of matching amp output impedence to speaker impedence. I've not read this whole thread, nor do I understand it from a technical point of view. And... I hope I don't have to - we don't do "word problems" in Miss...
Harbeth 30.1 or 40.1 I have not tried the SHL5's, but they have a similarly impressive sound to the 30.1's / 30.2's, but with a bit less dominant bass, and somewhat brighter highs. It's very possible that they would be just as pleasing to you, though they don't sound...
Harbeth 30.1 or 40.1 I have both the 30.1’s and 40.2’s in a room about 20’ x 20’ x 9’. Driving them with a Yggy DAC (one of the best), AR Ref 5SE preamp, and an A21 (to be replaced by a new AR Ref 150SE tomorrow). They’re both superb, very much like a dynamic Quad ESL...
Why would I need Roon? @ jaytor "I did not hear a difference between Roon and Manic Moose, but far prefer Roon for all the reasons mentioned above (UI, library integration, multi-zone support, DSP processing)." OK... that sounds more logical.
Why would I need Roon? @barts Like you, I also have the Bryston BDP 3.0 / BDA 3.0 set up - and find the convenience and sound quality amazing - using the Bryston Manic Moose software. And... like you... I do not understand how the BDP software can affect the sound quali...

Seeking advice on Speakers that create an intimate 2 channel listening experience If you are after "floorstanders" you will have a difficult time finding anything better than the Legacy Audio Aeris, or the Focus SE / XD. Either would do well in the large room you have (by volume).But... if you want something that sounds very mu... |
