Let's add a Spell Check to Audiogon
The one item I'm interested in is: Where does one buy sharp bananas??__ BTW, my grammar is ok, it's my grandpa that I worry about.I do get a kick out of people's misusing there/their,pronouns a lot.
Power Conditioners
I have owned as many or more conditioners than most. I have a full HT and decent 2ch -all in one room. I have CJ 8 monoblocks. They are power suckers. The limiting of current shows itself in the form of 1/2 of the bias lights coming on,when plugged...
Tube experts ---Chime In Do BK testers Lie?
Just thought I'd chime in re. some EL34's;bought as NOS. The sad thing is these tubes with questionable results cost me 3x's as much, as they take out the bias resistor/s. Ya gotta be careful and think of potential damage to your amp;forget about ...
I need help for processor selection
As a former Meridian owner;that is my pick. I sold off my high end projector and processor. I put that into better 2ch stuff. Before the Meridian I had 5 processors within a year. (Buy and try--then re-sell, process)The Meridian I had was the 565 ...
HD DVD's
Does anybody have the list for releases, present and soon to be--?
Please, DON'T TOUCH
Me??---I would disassemble the system, place it in a closet, speaker drivers facing a wall---this way you don't have to repeat the "don't touch".
Which Vivaldi Four Seasons CD to buy???
Me,3, with opalchip___ Back 'round 20 years ago public radio (kcet,in LA,I think) used to have a shoot-out every Sat.AM on different pieces. They would try 3,4 mins. of each movement;starting with 4/5/ versions.Drop one or two off. YUP,Bis 275 was...
Clear upgrade from 10T's?
I too had the 10's. I moved to Montana EPS. They have the port in the front, although I never had them against the wall.--Beg to the misses, your a 'phile and your speaker needs its space."Up-against-the-wall" seems like it is preparing to be shot??
Audio Debt?
I'm not with the majority whom have posted here. I don't pay their bills;they don't pay mine. Nothing like .0 while you sell your piece and then payoff most of that debt. I do live for today and love quality components and their affect on the musi...
Preamp to Monoblock
Yes, an outboard amp will help some, but the real help comes from a decent 2ch pre with pass-thru___Then, this great amp/amps.---Using the 2ch pre section of your reciever will be the limiting factor.
Affordable anti-jitter device
Like many here I have had the original AA DTI / the DTI pro / the Pro 32 / A Meridian 518 / A digital lense / the Purcell upsampler and I think they are all bandaids. When you find the right solution, I think it will be a one-box,one.
Any Home Theater Experts here?
I'm with the majority,it seems. Mega buck 2ch and a rec. for HT. I also get to use the good stuff for the 'fronts' in HT mode. I guess it just depends what you want to spend and where your priorities lie,for each format.
Just bought a 55" plasma...
I'm sure your installers know what they are doing. I presume you will have a HD source hooked up to this tv?On finding studs-- Each toggle/or recptical box is mounted to a stud. This could be one side of that box,or the other. Just about all studs...
What is the lifespan of a good SS Amp
This is an interesting read. I have a White Labs a100. It has a problem not mentioned,so far. A transformer on one ch. has quit. So far the price has been to high to replace, because both transformers 'should' be replaced. I'm just guessing,I figu...
CAT SL-1 MK III vs. First Sound Presence DeLuxe
Well I have one of each,as we speak. I find the dynamics similar. I feel the CAT3 a little sweeter in the mids,on into the treble.Oh, that be a good thing, this sweeter.____However I love my remote passive Placette, which doesn't do sweet,at all.__ ...
