Are Speakers Like Cask-Conditioned Beer?
listen to your taste buds and listen with your ears.
Recommendations for electronic crossover.
tread lightly when bypassing the crossovers of any quality loudspeaker.  they usually do a lot more than just filtering out low or high frequencies.  the other highly critical functions may include:BSC  baffle step compensation, reduces frequencie...
4 or 8 ohm connection for a 6 ohm speaker?
8 ohm has taps have worked much better for me than 4 ohm taps when driving 6 ohm speakers-  and it wasn't even close. but this is just a reference point- you really need to test carefully.
Choosing a tube amp for bi-amping just the mids and high frequency. EP4.7s
you will need one with at least the same gain spec as whatever amp you are going to drive the woofers with- preferably more gain and adjustable so you can level match each channel.
Affordable US Made Tube Pre/Power or Integrated Options
The Rogue Cronus Magnum is an excellent choice if you like more dynamics. refined neutrality and low end impact.  Small signal tube updates are a must IMHO but not expensive to realize a big sonic upgrade.  The Raven Audio Nighthawk is not as powe...
Harbeth Super HL5 plus Break-in
re. grilles on or off, i tried very diligently to enjoy the sound with grilles on for each model of harbeth i have owned.  the sound was overtly soft compared to other speakers i like.  grilles off sounds excellent with no negatives really.  the i...

Harbeth Super HL5 plus Break-in

Harbeth Super HL5 plus Break-in

The Harbeth phenomenon
the SHL5+ require top flight amplifiation and setup to sound their best.
Spendor D7 vs. Harbeth Super HL5+
@twoleftears the supertweeter adds just a touch of additional realism, especially in female vocals, a breathy / subtle tinge that makes the right recording stunningly present. @kren0006 as odd as it sounds I agree with the Stereophile rankings eve...
Rogue St100 Vs m120
I own and love the Stereo 100 amp.  Refined, dynamic and transparent.
Audioquest or Kimber kable.
Kimber 8PR does everything I need it to.  Neutral and balanced.  Big bass sounds like big bass.  Clear midrange sounds like clear midrange.  Delicate airy highs sound like delicate airy highs.  No negatives.
Best cheap integrated amp <$500 new
